"Hi sweetheart," My mom smiled at me from the sink as I walked through the door with my backpack, my lunch pale in my left hand. "How was school?" She asked in interest and I kicked off my runners and walked over to the counter to place my lunch on it.
"Good, Justin tried to steal my lunch again, I didn't let him this time though." I huffed as my mom pouted a bit.
"I'm sorry baby, but luckily you fought him off this time." She rubs her hand back through my blonde hair.
"I don't know why he has to pick on me. It's not like I did anything to him." I mumble while twiddling my thumbs.
"Kids can be mean, trust me I know. But first grade is almost over, and I have a feeling second grade will be a great year for you." She smiles and grabs my chin, looking at me it's that warm look. She always made me feel better when I was down.
"Okay momma, if you say so." I shrug.
"Now go get out of your uniform. And where's your sister?" She asks, changing her expression to a more serious look.
"Outside in the yard." I answer.
My mother scuffles and walks towards the door. "She knows she needs to bring in her lunch first and do her homework before she plays outside." She says in irritation while whipping open the front door. "Hey missy get inside! I'm not going to keep telling you this!" She orders her to come in.
Moments later she stomps past mom with her arms crossed and her pig tails flying in the wind she created from her pace. She kicked off her shoes and walk to the stairs with the foul look on her face, throwing the backpack to the floor.
"Watch your attitude or you'll be grounded again for another week!" My mom yelled to the stubborn six year old. She walked up the hallway angry like usual.
"I swear, you may be twins, but you are from different worlds." Mom looks at me with her hand on the end of the railing.
"I guess so." I shrug and hop off the counter tool and walk up the stairs. "I'm gonna go do my homework." I say, making her smile.
"Okay sweetheart, dinner will be in an hour." She says pleasantly as I walk up the stairs and off to my room.

Present Day
"Did I ever tell you how much I love it when you wear my shirts?" I ask while sitting in the middle of the bed with my legs crossed, Briar sitting up on my lap as we both watched Amelia walk around the room putting away laundry in my red flannel that fell to her upper thighs.
Her back was to me, putting clothes in the drawer. She looked over her shoulder and smiled at me just for a moment before she turned back to the dresser.
"Flattering will get you everywhere Mr. Styles." She says, making me laugh a bit.
"Briar doesn't mummy look pretty in daddy's clothes?" I ask her as she was leaned against my torso and sitting in my crossed legs, watching Amelia with awe.
She smiles and starts spitting gibberish like usual, crashing her head black against my torso and tiling it back to look up at me with her alive green eyes.
"I can't wait until she actually can talk. I wonder what her first word will be?" I smile at a Briar before looking at Amelia's back from across the room.
"Probably mama or dada I presume." She says while turning around with the empty basket of laundry, tucking it on the floor by the usual spot and walking to the end of the bed, crawling up next to us where she kissed Briar's forehead then laid down next to me on her side. She used her hand to prop her head up and looked at me.
