Louis Tomlinson
A friend, and a fighter who deserved betterMy hand was held in hers so tightly, her fingers always being smaller then mine. It was a cloudy day, the sky being one shade of misery. It was cold but not freezing, breezy but not that much wind. The grass we were standing on was green, bright green.
And the gravestone— was grey.
Amelia, myself, Briar, Niall, Liam, and Audrey were half surrounding a gravestone. The apparel of black was different today then any others, today was formal black. It wasn't like the black jeans and tshirts I was used too. Today, we wore suits and dresses. It was a small gathering of just us, but none the less a ceremony. We all dressed up for the occasion as if it was a big ceremony with hundreds of people.
I've never worn a suit like this before. It was...uncomfortable.
I stared down at the stone that had Louis' name carved across it— still not feeling like this was all real. I've been doing everything to prepare today, getting the gravestone, casket, burial, everything. Niall and Liam have helped, but I've taken on the leader role to get everything organized. Now it was finally here, Louis' funeral.
It's been two weeks since the war.
We all stood silently around the gravestone that had Louis six feet under, an eternal rest.
I went back for his body the day after the war— Niall coming with me. It was hard; looking for Louis. It was something I don't wish on anyone having to do, but it had to be done. No authorities are going to nicely discard of Malignant bodies, they will burn them if anything. I had to grab him before it was too late and they cleared everyone out off the streets, doing who knows what with the fallen bodies.
So Niall and I grabbed him and put him in a casket, burying him ourselves. Liam offered to help they say if the finding, but I couldn't let him get more fucked up from everything he's already seen.
Mary's body was taken by the authorities though, because she wasn't a gang member. She was an innocent victim, so the law handled her body and getting it to a proper burial. Her funeral was next week.
But now we were all here and the damage was done, he was buried in a casket within a graveyard like everyone else.
Niall stood with his hands in his dress pants pockets, sunglasses on his face and staring at the gravestone like he was numb. Liam stood to his left, same position staring at the stone. We all were staring at the gravestone like it would jump out of the ground or something.
