Chapter 21 - Dog

*LEO KING*

Hahahahahahahahahahaha! I drive pAST A RED LIgHT I'M sO gOOd. I'm so GoOd that I could smack myself in heAD!

"Mr King! Mr King! They are waiting! Waiting! Waiting!" Chipmunk tells me like a bird that repeats. I actually wonder what they are called. I guess maybe Joshua and Jacob are right that I'm not smart after all.

"MR KING! WHAT ARE YOU DOING! YOU HAVE TO STOP STARING INTO SPACE! SPACE! SPACE!" My wife (Chipmunk) tells me.

"Mr King! We are here! Um, are you even awake?" A voice I recognize asks.

"Uh... Yeah. I'm very awake!" I tell the person that talked to me. "I feel dizzy so yeah..."

"GRRRR!" I feel a pounce on the back of my head. I feel my intelligence come back to me.

"I don't feel dizzy anymore!" I cry out in relief. I stand up slowly and the ground starts spinning quickly. I grab on tightly to the back of the driver's seat. "Why am I asleep?"

"Come out of the car first." Avery say as I grip the driver seat harder. I jump out of the window that I opened in the last chapter.

"Why is everything spinning every time I run around? Avery?" Avery disappeared!

"Ugh. Y'all car crash is so bad." Avery tells me and Chipmunk in a bad Texan accent as she reappeared behind the car.

"Uh oh..." Chipmunk squeaks in his bad Chipmunky accent.

*AVERY STARR*

The chipmunk hurls itself as me and I scream really loudly.

"What do you think you're doing, you crazy chipmunk! Get off of me!" I screech.

" GRRRR!" I feel a pounce on the front of my face.

"That's it. I'm done with all these annoying animals hurting me! I'm leaving," and before I leave, I grab Joshua's hand.

"Wait, Avery. Look," he points to the little puppy that was growling at me before. It is now giving me puppy eyes and whimpering for me not to go.

"Awwwww! It's so so so cute! Can we keep him? Pretty please with a cherry on top?" I plead.

"I thought you didn't like it, you were just about to leave because of that puppy," Joshua remarks.

"I don't care about the past so let's keep it. I'm gonna name it... Wait is it a boy or a girl?" I ask.

"I know how to see if it is a boy or a girl. All you have to do is look at it's urine! I've done this plenty of times at school because my mom forced me to do it to practice for an test about dogs!" Joshua rambles on and on about his knowing of how to see if a dog is a boy or girl.

"Joshua?"

"What?"

"Can you just start?"

"Okay." He puts the dog beside a tree. "PEE!" he screams at the dog. It started crying and then it ran to me and jumped on my head. Why does the dog like me? I smacked the dog off and it fell on the ground. It didn't break a leg or anything. Just an arm.

"WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!?!?!?!" Joshua screams. He picked up the dog with blood spilling out of its arm but after a few minutes of all of us just staring at it, we all realize that the just landed on a ketchup pack from Leo King's McDonald's bag.

"Um. Is it mine?" I say, pointing to the dog with a red paw and light blue eyes.

"No. Why would you think that?" Jacob says to me but with an evil stare.

"JACOB. DON'T YOU DARE TALK TO HER LIKE THAT. SHE'S MY GIRL. RESPECT HER. And we got that puppy for her. You came with me yesterday," Joshua yells like a banshee. I blush but for some reason I blush bright green. "Are you okay?" Joshua says.

"Um..." BLERK. I barf right onto Joshua. "Oops. My ba-" BLERK. "Hah. I think I'm allergic," I say, embarrassed. Everyone - even Leo King - is staring at me.

There is a lot of awkward silence before Jacob suddenly sticks out his arm and points accusingly at the dog. "Get rid of the evidence!"

"Don't you want the dog?" Joshua says, starting to cry. I can tell because he always looks like he's about to die whenever he's pretending to be strong in front of me. I've only known him for about four days, but yes. I do know that much about him.

"No. Sell him," Jacob says, refusing to look into Joshua's about-to-cry eyes.

"Look at me, bro. I look sad," Joshua says randomly. Then he starts to cry like crazy right in front of everyone (including Leo King who is actually recording the whole thing from behind Joshua).

"Haha! Look at this mess of my geometry student. Look at how barfy this girl made him look AND he's crying over a dog who's completely fine," Leo King starts to narrate. Probably so that his geography students will know what happened if (when) he shows that video.

I glare at Leo King and lunge at him. I don't really know what my plan is but I just need him to stop recording. As soon as I land on his back, he reaches out to catch my feet and he's giving me a piggy back while balancing his phone on his oddly long tongue.

"EW! STOP TOUCHING ME," I scream, pushing and kicking him. I manage to get away but right after I snatch the phone from his tongue and stop the recording. I throw the phone way up in the trees. But then I realize-

"Go get it, honey!" Leo King says, cheering on a chipmunk that's supposedly his wife. Uh oh. I didn't delete the video.

I turn around to see a smiling Joshua holding the dog that was supposed to be mine.

"Here you go!" he holds out the dog. "I'll put plastic cling wrap paper around him so that you can hold him and still get to see his cuteness without throwing up on me!"

"Um. Thanks." He's really weird so I turn back around and run like Forrest Gump.

"Run, Avery! Run!" I hear shouts from behind me. I guess it's from Adalynn because a second later I could hear kissing noises. Gross.

"A second later I could hear kissing noises. Gross. Avery thinks." I could hear Adalynn again. I rolled my eyes but then I saw Joshua and Jacob's house. Why do they live so close to a forest?

"Stop running!" Leo King screams from behind me.

Ugh. What does he want now?
