CARRYING HIS BABY

Raelyn's hand lingered on the door knob as she tried to bring a smile to her face. Finally plastering a smile on her face,she opens the door and enters into the small hospital room.

"Hey Sky" she says with a smile they both knew was fake. Sky looks at her as she approaches him and sits down on the chair next to his bed.

"Hey Rae, I'm really sorry ab..." Sky starts his voice barely audible enough for even him to hear.

"Its okay" Raelyn says quickly, not wanting him to talk any further. She couldn't hear him anyways. "It was an accident and don't worry, very soon I'll get money for your surgery and everything will be okay. Alright?" She says to him but it seemed like she was talking more to herself than him.

She was assuring herself that everything was going to be okay. It had to be okay, she couldn't lose Sky.

"I guess I do need...need your money" Sky says referring to the morning of his accident when he had said he didn't need the money she provided.

It was almost like a dream to him, it all happened so fast. One minute he was looking into the tank and the next he was falling into the tank, covered in blood and in great pain.

"Yes, you do" Raelyn says, forcing a smile. "Sky?" She calls softly

"Hmm?"

"I need to go now okay? Damon will be here soon" she says and he frowns

"I'll be back soon, I promise. I just need to go and get the money for your surgery okay?" She says and he nods slowly. Where she was going to get the money,she had no idea.

"Just take care of yourself okay? If you feel any pain, just press the button okay?I'll be back soon and Damon will be here even before me, to come look after you" she says and he nods

She leans down and pecks him lightly on the forehead before walking to the door and opening it. "Bye sky" she says and he smiles at her

"Bye Rae" he says and she couldn't help the thought that came to her head. It almost seemed like it was goodbye forever.

She said nothing, she just walked out the room and shut the door behind her.

"Come in" she heard from inside and let out a breath before opening the door and walking in.

She shut the door behind her and approached the desk. "Raelyn, please take your seat" her boss, Mrs Louisiana said and she sat down slowly

"How are you doing? And how is Sky?" She asks and Raelyn shifts in her chair

"Actually, I came to talk to you about Sky" she says, her fingers intertwined on her laps

"Oh...what about him? Is he okay?" Mrs Louisiana asks, a worried look on her face

"Sky...He has a lacerated kidney and he needs to undergo surgery" she says "The surgery costs about 500,000 dollars" she lied, she didn't know why but she did.

"Oh, that's a lot" Mrs Louisiana says and Raelyn licks her lips

She was having second thoughts about asking her for her salary but she needed the money. Sky needed the money.

Her salary was only 30 dollars a month_ what was supposed to have under normal circumstances been her pay per hour_ not even close to what she needed for Sky's surgery.

"Yeah, I was hoping you would be able to pay me my salary now? Its remains just 2 weeks for the month to be over anyways"

"You want me to pay you now?" Her boss asked making her shift in her seat.

Of course she wanted her to pay her now, what else?

"Yeah, I would really appreciate it. I really need the money" she says

"Alright then I'll send it to your bank account" she says and Raelyn nods

"Thanks" she says softly, standing up.

"Its fine. Sky is going to be okay"

Of course he was going to be okay. She was going to make sure of it
