"Wow" it was all that left Miguel's lips the moment the door opened and he laid eyes on the dark skinned woman he'd come to pick up

As per the plan, he'd arrived at exactly 7 to pick her up for the dinner date he'd planned for them both and she'd made plans beforehand for Sky to stay over at their neighbor's place till she came back so she didn't have to leave him home alone

 "Is that a good wow?" She asks, resisting the urge to touch the well made bun she'd thrown her hair into, brown curls framing her face

"It's a great one. You look absolutely stunning" he smiles, successfully pulling one onto her lips too

"Thank you. You look quite handsome yourself" she compliments

"Can you tell I dressed up for you?" He asks teasingly, adjusting the dark blue tie he'd matched with the three piece suit he had on

"Oh did you?" She smiles

"Of course" he says "May I?" He asks putting out his hand for her to take once she'd locked her door and kept the key safely in her purse, a spare one being with Sky incase he needed to get into the house.

"Please" she says, taking his hand and allowing him lead her down the porch to his car, opening the door for her to get in before shutting it and walking over to the other side.

"Are you alright?" He asks once he gets in, leaning over and helping her click in her seatbelt 

"I am" she smiles as he does his own belt

"Let's get on the road then" he smiles

"Forgive my sounding like a broken record but God, you are a beautiful woman" Miguel says and a blush creeps up Raelyn's cheeks at the sudden but bold compliment

"Thank you" she smiles, looking up from her food and at him. They'd driven a short 20 minutes before they'd arrived at the restaurant Miguel had reserved for them.

Unlike what she thought, it was easy having conversations with him, as he knew well how to bring up topics and she flowed easily with him, laughing many times over his words as they ate.

She liked that he didn't try to delve deep into her life too, he asked appropriate questions and slid past uncomfortable or too personal questions and she was grateful. It was a bit surprising that he never mentioned her pregnancy or asked for a story as regards it but nonetheless, she was happy for his courtesy.

"You know, I was a little hesitant in coming out today" He confesses and she raises a brow

"Why?"

"I don't know, I just felt a bit nervous I guess. It's not very often that I get to take a woman out like this, it's been years actually"

"Oh"

"The hospital takes up most of my time and sometimes I'm stuck taking shifts in the ER and you know that's neverending" he chuckles "I guess I never really had time for romance or anything outside my responsibilities"

"You have a family?" She asks and he nods

"My mum and two siblings. I feed the family, my siblings are still going through college and my mum's bedridden currently so she can't work" he says 

"I'm sorry"

"That's alright. It's been a couple years now"

"Is it okay if I ask what happened to her?" Raelyn asks

"She got paralyzed after a work accident three years ago but I'm grateful she's alive and I try to keep her happy" he says with a small smile

"You're doing good" she smiles and he nods "And I understand a bit about having no time outside your responsibilities. I have to take care of my brother, he's all I have had for 10 years and I really want the best for him so I live everyday trying to work my hardest to get him the best. I mean it's a bit difficult having a low earning job and feeding both myself and him from it but I try my best" she says and he smiles at the fact that she'd opened up to him
