CARRYING HIS BABY

"Thanks Alec!" Raelyn says before shutting the door to the car and heading into the building, the elevator being her first and immediate destination 

It's a few seconds before she arrives on the floor of her and Zyaire's office. "Good morning" Hannah says first and Raelyn turns to her with a smile

"Morning Hannah" she greets back "Is he in?"

"Mr Zimmermann? Yes he is, he has guests though" she says

"Oh, who?"

"Partners from Goldmines" she says

"Oh right, that was today" she says mostly to herself remembering he'd been telling her last week of their intended meeting, before taking out her phone

Good morning.
I just got to the office, I'm right outside, do you want me to come in or should I wait till your meeting is done?

She sends the text to Zyaire before going to sit down on the couch in the reception

"You're waiting here?" Hannah asks

"I sent him a text asking if I should" she says and Hannah nods

"Oh alright"

It's a few seconds later before a beep comes to Raelyn's phone and she glances down at her phone

Morning. You can wait a while, I'll wrap up the meeting soon

She smiles at the text before keeping her phone back in her purse.

"Raelyn?" She hears and turns to Hannah

"Yeah?"

"I was meaning to ask, if it's not too personal but um...how come you are working here while pregnant? That is if you are pregnant, I just noticed your stomach has you know? gone through some changes" she says and Raelyn clears her throat

Of course the question was soon to come up.

She'd obviously wonder why a pregnant woman was working with her boss all of a sudden.

Pregnancy is usually a deal breaker for job interviews.

"Well I am pregnant but um...my...the father of the baby..."

"Your husband?" Hannah inputs

"Yes, yes my husband would obviously be the father of my baby. Well he is acquainted...really close friends with Mr Zimmermann and I'm working here to while away time while my...husband is out of the country" she lies with quick thoughts

"Oh, I didn't know you were married" Hannah says with a smile

"Neither did I" Raelyn murmurs to herself

"What?"

"Um...yeah I am. I recently got married and you know? Baby was just in the plans" she chuckles and Hannah laughs lightly, eating up her lies

"Of course. I'm really happy for you and your husband" she says

"Yeah me too"

"I was just asking cause half the staff were wondering too? Cause its a bit weird for Mr Zimmermann to hire a pregnant woman but I understand now" Hannah says

"Great, great" Raelyn says with a clear of her throat, feeling awkward after lying.

She wished she could just go into the office and away from here, under the watching eyes of Hannah who was obviously waiting for her to engage them in a conversation.
