"And when he looks at me
I swear I can't breathe."The rest of the night was a blur. Juliette woke up, thinking about how much she wanted to tell him that she lov-liked him. She couldn't possibly be in love with him already? Or could she?
Tears started to form in her eyes, thinking back on how he described that girl. He must be deeply in love with her. But why did it hurt her? He was a stranger. Maybe not a stranger, a friend, perhaps. She made her way out of her bed and got dressed into the blue dress her mother left her. It was her favorite dress and so it also became Juliette's favorite.
She walked down to the bakery when her father approached her. "Where have you been?", he sternly asked, "answer me, young lady." "I took a walk." "With?" "A friend.", she replied. "A friend?", he asked, already calming down. "Yes." "My dear, I'm so sorry. I had no idea. What is it sweet pie? You look sad." "It's nothing, papa.", she replied softly, " I will finish at least 30 loaves of bread before the bakery opens." "Alright, my dear. Take your time. You have till ten."
"Go to bed, papa, I can do this alone." Her father left the bakery and went upstairs. As soon as he disappeared, she let out a sigh and started to make the dough for her bread. At ten, she had even more bread than she promised her father. Of course, she had gotten help by Alexandre. You could smell the fresh bread on the streets. The siblings sold 5 loaves of bread and 3 muffins. Her mind was still filled with yesterday's events. Whoever that lucky girl was he was talking about, she must be something special. Time passes and the bakery is closed once again. There's a knock again. She opened the blinds, to see Gavroche standing in front of the bakery. And behind him ten other man. They looked familiar. Especially the blonde man. What was his name again? And then she remembered.
His name was Enjolras and he was the leader of Les Amis de l'ABC.
Courfeyrac has told her a lot about Enjolras last night. But why were they here? She opened the door with a smile. "Can I help you? Bonjour Gavroche."
"Bonjour Mademoiselle.", the leader in red replied, "little Gavroche told us that you were at the mass a few days ago." "I was just passing but yes, I was there. Why?"
"Because we need more people. At first Enjolras didn't want to come here, he doesn't feel well when women are at the meeting. We have bad experience with that. Courfeyrac has told us, that you are for the same cause. Which is why we want you to join us.", the blonde man with the blue vest said. "I don't know what to say." "Say yes.", the man with the bottle in his hand said. "So what do you say?" "okay, I'll join you."
