Eponine and Juliette ran all the way to the Café. Of course, they were slower than the boys but that was not the point in this.

As they reached the Café, the students had already began to build the barricade. Everyone, except for Grantaire of course. He was not drinking but he had his sister on his lap. Her name was Sophie. She was crying and begged Grantaire not to go. "I have to. Always remember: you never leave the people you love. You can't.", he said, before standing up.
He gave her a kiss on the forehead and he left her standing crying in the Café.

She ran up to her. "Don't worry, nothing will happen to them. They will bring us a beautiful, new, improved France.", she said. Sophie looked at her and smiled. She wasn't crying anymore. The barricade was build and Enjolras added the red flag. It was a missing piece.

Night has come and the boys feared that nothing was going to happen tonight. A man, the same man that had saved Courfeyrac earlier, was a volunteer.
Enjolras hasn't noticed Juliette or Eponine yet.
The volunteer came back. "Listen my friends, I have done what you said. I have been to their lines. I have counted each man. I will tell what I can.", he said.

He breathed in. "Better beware they have armies to spare and the danger is real. We will need all our cunning to bring them to heal." Something was sketchy about this man. Even Gavroche seemed to notice. "Liar!", he screamed. The man looked shocked and the boys were alarmed. They didn't let him escape.

"Good evening dear Inspector. Lovely evening my dear. I know this man, my friend, his name's Inspector Javert. So don't believe a word he says, 'cause none of it's true. This only goes to show what little people can do!", he yelled. "Bravo Gavroche, you're the top of the class!", Courfeyrac said to the small boy.

This warmed Juliettes heart. I mean, the situation they were in, definitely wasn't, put the way he treated Gavroche. She knew he would be an amazing father.
They brought Javert in the Café and after a while it was silent. Until they could hear footstomps.

"Who's there?", a guard yelled. "French Revolution!", Enjolras yelled back. "Fire!", the guard commanded. It has begun. And this situation was everything but nice.

Marius grabbed a torch. "Fall back, or I blow the barricade!", he yelled, while hitting the guard. The men threw back.
Juliette walked over to Eponine. She was sitting on the ground, clutching her right side. She had been shot. "'Ponine, please don't. We will get you fixed up again. I promise, just stay with me!", Juliette said to her. Typical for her. Always positive. "What have you done?", Marius asked.

"Monsieur Marius, I believe I was a little in love with you.", she said, before taking her last breath. Then she died with a smile on her face.
"She's the first to fall. She's the first of us to fall upon this barricade.", Enjolras said. "Her name was Éponine. Her life was cold and dark, yet she was unafraid.", Marius said in between his sobs.

"We will fight in her name!", Combeferre said. "She will not die in vain.", Jehan added. "Gavroche, are you okay?" "That was my sister.", he said, tears streaming down his pale cheek. Juliette was still crying. She had still been sitting where Eponine had died. Courfeyrac walked over to her. "Hey, are you alright?" She shook her head. Her hat had fallen off and her long hair was exposed.

"Juliette! What are you doing here? You promised me something."
"I'm sorry."
