"He found the colors to paint her
where the world had left her grey"

She walked home. Her heart was beating so fast, she thought it might explode in her chest. Her heart was full of love. Happiness that she had never known.
She sneaked into the bakery, trying not to wake her father and her brother. "Where were you?", that voice belonged to Alexandre. "I don't think I have to tell you everything." "Papa wouldn't like if he knew what his little sweet pie was doing.", he said. "What do you what?" "Where were you? With this revolutionary?" She didn't have to say something, he just knew. "This world is cruel. He is dangerous—" "no, he's not. He told me he was falling in Love with me.", she half-yelled.
"Are you blind? That man might own a gun. He could shoot you." "No, he's not like that." She's on the verge of tears. He's not a bad man. He's a good person. He wants to help people.
"How do you know? How do you know that he isn't like that? You barely know him." "I DO know him." "I'm trying to protect you." "I don't want to be protected by my little brother. Don't you understand? I'm eighteen years old. I can protect myself.", she exclaimed. Why did he not understand? "If you could, then why aren't you doing it?" "What do you mean?" "I see things. I know that he isn't good for you.", he said, trying to make her understand, "he's fighting in a Revolution. You don't even know if he comes back from that. What if they fail?" "I trust them."
"You shouldn't trust them. Juliette, we're living a simple live. I'm eight, I know that this world is bad." "You're mistaken. Not everything in this world is bad. You will learn that when you're older. Especially, when you fall in love."
The discussion was over. She left the bakery and went upstairs to her room. She got herself ready for bed. But she couldn't fall asleep. Her brother's words were spinning in her thoughts. He must have talked a lot with Gavroche. What was that feeling? A million of butterflies in her stomach when she only thought about Courfeyrac. She had admitted that the feelings were mutual. But maybe it was a little more than that. She drifted off into an uneasy sleep.
On the next day, she has been woken up by thunder. Wait, thunder? It was raining outside. She saw so many people outside, they were wet, cold. They had no shelter. There was a heavy storm coming. She got dressed and ran out of the bakery to help the people find shelters. After that, she tried finding Gavroche. He was still sleeping in the Elephant. "Gavroche, wake up. A storm is coming." "A storm?" "Yes. Follow me. I'm giving you shelter. You can stay with us as long as this storm takes." "Thank you Juliette. You're so kind." "I'm doing my best." Gavroche then jumped out of the Elephant and gave her a tight hug. Then they were off to the bakery.

(AN: thank you all so much for reading my story. It definitely needs a lot of work. This is my first fanfiction ever so I'm sorry if things don't make sense at all. Next chapter should make up for all the filler chapters....at least I hope it does 😁)
