S A M
My heart is hammering in my chest and I know it's not from the alcohol flowing through my system. His eyes scan my face for a few seconds and his lips part like he's about to say something, but instead, he scoffs and with the roll of his eyes, he walks away.
And I'm confused. And I'm angry because his mood swings are giving me a headache. I watch him as he continues to make long strides away from me and until he's disappeared somewhere in the house.
"India!" I shout as I walk over to her and she spins around, her eyebrows raised. "How about some shots?" I ask her and she smiles wickedly at me.
I've said it before, I don't handle my alcohol very well, but tonight, I feel like drinking. India handles it very well so I should be fine if I'm with her.
I'm pulled into the kitchen where Ashton and Calum are currently hanging out. Becca is somewhere else, probably talking to some guy. I have no idea where Michael is, but I think I saw him playing video games earlier while he was very drunk.
"Well, well, well, look who wants to get shit faced now?" Calum jokes as he wraps an arm around my shoulder.
I'm already a bit tipsy so I just simply laugh and ruffle his hair. That last time I was drunk, it was actually pretty fun, I won't lie. Throwing up and being sick all the day after wasn't however, so I'm hoping it won't happen.
"Here you go, girl." India shouts as she hands me a shot with some dark liquid in it. I watch her as she dumps her shot glass into a glass of redbull so I just do the same. I wanna ask what it is, but knowing India she'll probably just tell me to drink it.
So I do and my nose wrinkles, the liquor feels warm in my throat, chest and stomach. I look over at Calum and smile at him, he returns the smile. We're both a mess of giggles as we take a shot together, this one is stronger than the first one.
"India!" I whine and take her wrists, spinning her around so she can face me. "Luke is mad at me, he won't talk to me. He didn't even say hi."
"Who cares?! I told you you came here to have fun!" She shouts and gives my shoulders a shake. "More shots!"
"Yes, more shots!" Ashton shouts too and pours the four of us each one.
"Calum, do that thing with me people do at weddings with their drinks after the toast!" I tell him and stand in front of him.
"Okay, okay," he agrees and we hook our arms together. "One, two, three," he counts down and we throw our heads back, taking the shot.
It tastes way too strong for my liking and I make a noise. "What is that?!" I whine and India giggles beside me.
"Patrón," India tells me. I want some sprite.
An hour later after a few more shots, I'm walking around the second floor of the house, trying my best to keep my balance. It's less quiet up here than downstairs, but I can still hear the music bumping through the walls.
Every single light in the rooms I walk by is off, until I reach the end of the hall. It's dim, but there's someone definitely someone in that room and something tells me, Luke is in there. He hasn't been down stairs in over an hour. He has to be in there.
My shaky hand clutches the door handle and a sigh of relieve leaves my mouth when it's not locked. I peek my head in once I push the door open a bit and sure enough, it's Luke.
He's sitting on the bed, his back against the bed frame, his knees up as he looks down, probably his phone.
He meets my eyes and I expect him to be angry, but he's not. Instead, his lips curl into a smile.
