Pranks

When Ashton wakes up Wednesday morning, he knows something is wrong. Something is definitely not right and he gets nervous when he can hear giggling in his room. With the hectic week he had been having (and this wasn't because of tour planning and meets and greets and everything band related) he had grown a paranoid mess.

He couldn't remember whose idea it was to start having prank wars in their house, but he regretted agreeing to it so much now. Like yesterday, when someone, he still doesn't know who did this, snuck into his bathroom while he was showering and dumped ice water on him.

Ashton sits up in bed and finds that he is alone in his room just like every morning. Maybe the giggling came from the hallway. He gets out of bed and walks into the bathroom.

He is just starting to think that all the pranks are over when he feels that the floor is too slippery. Oh, fuck me, he thinks as he loses his balance and falls over. When he lands on the tiled floor, he knows his arm is definitely broken.

Ashton lets out a pained sound and then shouts, "What the fuck?! This isn't fun anymore!"

The first person to be at his side is Luke, eyes wide and hands clamped over his mouth. "Fuck, I'm driving you to the ER," he says and then leaves the bathroom, only to come back with a shirt and pair of shorts for him to put on.

Luke helps him get dressed and Ashton is trying his best to stay calm. Not because he wants to cry, but because he is so damn mad at whoever did this.

"Whoa, what happened?" Calum, who has clearly just woke up, asks as he comes out of his room.

"Someone fucking buttered the floor in my bathroom," Ashton groans as he and Luke keep walking. "Luke's driving me to the ER."

Calum doesn't even bother to think about putting a shirt on first before following them and saying, "I'll go with you guys."

Luke wishes he could text Sam and tell her what's going on, but she's at work and doesn't want to worry her.

"Nice going, dude," Luke tells Michael when they make it downstairs.

Of course Michael only did it to get a laugh out of it, not so that Ashton could get hurt. That was the last thing he wanted and he honestly feels really bad for what's happened.

"Dude, I'm so sorry," Michael says to Ashton giving him an apologetic look. Ashton knows that Michael means it, he knows that Michael would never do anything to hurt him.

And even though he really wants to, Ashton can't be mad at Michael. "It's okay, you dickhead," Ashton tells him, trying to lighten the tense situation.

They drive Ashton to the hospital, where it's established it's a simple fracture and that Ashton will have to wear a cast for a total of six weeks.

"At least I can still drum," Ashton says when they head back to the car as fast as they can, due to the amount of photographers that have gathered outside the hospital.

This whole situation, has got Luke thinking about what Sam did last week. He knows he probably should be thinking about Ashton and his well being and ask how he feels, but he can't help it.

It was a classic prank, nothing too over the top, but Luke still hadn't gotten her back for it. It was Tuesday when Luke had woken up from a nap. He could hear everyone else downstairs, but not Sam so he decided she had probably gone out on her own.

Luke got up and headed to the bathroom, only to be scared shitless by Sam coming out and screaming. He let out a scream himself. But that wasn't the end of it, because Sam had gotten two large cans of silly string and sprayed him until they were both out.
