Hermione was released from St. Mungo's later that evening after the Healers came to check on her. Her arms were still a bright red, but it was noticeably fading from under her elbows where previously it had just started blistering. Her forearms and hands were still blistered though, and Draco grimaced when he looked at them.
Blaise and Ginny had left the room to go home while the Healers were changing Hermione's bandages, promising to visit the next day so that Hermione would have time to heal. Blaise noticed that Ginny seemed bothered and after they arrived at their manor, he pulled her into his arms.
"What's wrong, Ginny?" He asked quietly.
She buried her face into his chest and didn't answer for a few moments. He felt a mix of frustration, guilt, and hesitation come off her and sighed as he waited for her to answer.
"I don't know," She finally said into his chest. "I feel horrible for what happened to Hermione, but I was attacked too."
Blaise tightened his arms around her and rested his head on top of hers. "Ginny, it's not that we weren't worried about you. Did you not see Hermione's face when you said you were attacked as well? Or how she looked when you were explaining?"
She pulled away but looked at the floor. "I did, and that's only making me feel worse. I don't know why it's bothering me so much; I'm happy I walked away without a scratch but at the same time, the Death Eater tried to kill me, and no one seemed to understand that I could have died."
Blaise watched her carefully, inspecting the look on her face. She seemed off somehow, and he wasn't sure if it was because she was attacked.
She looked up at him then, tears brimming her eyes and she asked, "Am I a horrible person, Blaise?"
He sighed and pulled her in again. "No, Ginny. I'm incredibly happy that you were not hurt, I'm sorry if I didn't say that before."
Ginny laid her head on her chest, wondering why these feelings were there all of a sudden. Hermione was physically hurt and she was jealous because Hermione got the attention? She shook her head and tried to whisk the thoughts away, angry with herself for thinking such a thing.
"Hey."
Blaise tilted her chin up to look at him. "Stop thinking whatever you are thinking. You are fine, and Hermione will be alright. It's not a competition for who got hurt the worst, but Hermione was physically injured and you were not. That is the only reason the focus was on her."
This statement hit her and she realized she was being incredibly petty. She nodded and felt incredibly ashamed, grateful that her friend was alright.
Draco convinced Hermione to stay home that next day, which she argued against. But once he reminded her that she physically couldn't use her arms and she received a letter from the Minister, Kingsley Shacklebolt, telling her to take however long she needed to heal, she gave in and agreed to stay home for that next day. He took the day off to help her, and Ginny and Blaise had come over to help as well.
Both Veelas had noticed that Ginny was very attentive to Hermione but they didn't say anything, and Blaise was the only one to know the reasoning behind it. Ginny felt guilty every time she looked at Hermione's bandages and made sure that Hermione had everything she needed even before Draco was able to get it. She was also the one to insist on changing Hermione's bandages, which Draco was grateful for since he didn't think he could look at her wounds without feeling immense anger.
