Ginny woke up slowly, trying to blink away the sleep. She groaned as she stretched slightly, immediately standing up and giving her arms a rest.
Hermione?
I'm here, how did you sleep?
About as well as someone could while chained to a wall. How long do you think it's been?
Definitely a few hours at least. There hasn't been any change or anything.
Ginny looked around her small room and sighed, walking around a bit. Any news from the boys?
Nothing yet, unfortunately. I honestly thought I felt something a little while ago, but I was dozing off at the time.
You mean you thought you felt Draco?
Yeah, like he was back in range. But it wasn't very long and all it did was wake me up a bit.
That's strange, I didn't feel anything from Blaise.
Well, to be fair, you are a bit of a heavier sleeper than me.
True.
Hermione paused as a noise hit her ears. I think someone's coming!
She pulled away from the connection just as the door opened, blinding her again with light. Alecto and Rodolphus entered again, the same expressions on both of their faces as they had the day before. Was it the day before though? She truly had no idea how long they had been there, but she wasn't able to think on it any longer as the two Death Eaters stopped in front of her and glared maliciously down at her.
"Nice to see that you're awake," Alecto said in a lightly taunting tone. "I was wondering how long you were going to stay passed out after yesterday's lessons."
Hermione raised an eyebrow up at the older witch but said nothing in response, causing Alecto's right eye to twitch in slight frustration. But she quickly regained her composure and pointed her wand at Hermione.
"Now, back on the subject of yesterday," Alecto started, smiling in a sickly sweet way. "How did you defeat the Dark Lord?"
Hermione stayed silent, glaring up at the witch. Alecto let out a growl and shouted, "Crucio!"
The familiar pain wracked her body again and her screams filled the small room. Her muscles tensed as the excruciating white-hot pain continued to sear through her body, but it ended a lot quicker than she expected, leaving her panting and choking for air.
"Answer me, mudblood!" Alecto screeched, taking a step forward.
She gritted her teeth and looked up, glaring at the witch. "No."
Alecto's eyes filled with fire as her mouth dropped open in shock. Her brow furrowed and she yelled out again, "Crucio!"
The pain returned quickly and more furiously, almost rivalling Bellatrix's spell. She was in so much pain that she was frozen in shock, her mouth open in a silent scream as she waited for it to end. Being on fire would have been a better alternative than this, but Hermione stayed strong and held out the entirety of the spell.
It felt like hours before the spell was lifted but when it was, Hermione went limp with exhaustion while gasping for air, the only thing holding her up being the chains around her wrists. She was shaking hard, sweat dripping down her forehead as she tried to fill her lungs with air.
"Maybe we need to try another way," She heard Rodolphus say in an emotionless voice.
Hermione lifted her head just in time to see a knife pointing right in the middle of her nose. Dread filled her as she noticed it looked almost exactly like Bellatrix's, except it was black metal instead of the silver color of his wife's.
