Spring fell into summer, which then proceeded into fall. The weather cooled down and both Hermione and Ginny were amazed at how quickly the year went by as they neared Ginny's due date. Ginny and Blaise had both kept the names of their children a secret, not wanting to reveal them until the birth which frustrated quite a few people.
Hermione and Draco had decided not to learn the gender of their child either until the birth, which also added to many others' frustration. But it was also exciting for them, and many wagers were placed on the gender of the baby.
Ginny's due date was growing steadily closer, and she was starting to get antsy. Blaise would try his best to keep her happy, but knew that she wouldn't be fully happy until their twins were born.
"I'm so tired of being this large," Ginny muttered, her head in her hands.
Hermione reached over and squeezed her friend's arm reassuringly. "It should be any day now, right?"
"Yes, but the hard part is not knowing exactly when," Ginny sighed, sitting back in her chair. She had to magically stretch all of her clothes to be able to fit around her large belly, and she was not happy about that. "I'm half-tempted to just go in and have them induce me."
"That's probably not a bad idea," Hermione shrugged. "You could always ask for it."
"What does that mean, induce you?" Blaise asked from the other side of the kitchen. He and Draco had taken to standing a little further away since the girls were both fairly prone to snapping at them when they got too overbearing.
"It just means that they start the labor process instead of letting it happen naturally," Hermione shrugged. "Many women have it happen, sometimes there's an issue and the baby needs to come sooner, or it's a few weeks past the due date and the baby hasn't come yet. Every situation is different."
"Sounds painful," Draco muttered.
"I don't care, I just want them out of me," Ginny sighed. Then she looked up at her husband and said, "Blaise, I'm not having any more kids any time soon."
He laughed. "I think I'm okay with that. Besides, we'll have our hands full with these two anyway."
"Well, remember you guys will have help," Draco said. "I mean, you've got us, Ginny's parents, my parents, Aster..."
"Oh be realistic, Draco," Ginny snapped suddenly. "You and Hermione are going to have your hands full as well with your own child. You're not going to have time to help us."
Draco stared at her, taken aback by the sudden outburst. Hermione was stunned as well, but she didn't say anything, only looking away towards the wall opposite of her. Ginny's outbursts had gotten worse recently, but Hermione knew it was only from the pregnancy. She did miss her friend though...
Ginny sighed and put her head in her hands again. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean that..."
"It's okay," Draco said quietly. "We know."
Shaking her head, Ginny said, "No, I shouldn't let my pregnancy hormones get the best of me like that."
"It's not really your fault though," Hermione shrugged. "Everything's going to be alright, Gin."
Ginny smiled at her friend and nodded.
It was the middle of the night when a blinding light came into Draco and Hermione's bedroom, abruptly waking them up. Hermione rubbed her eyes as she realized that it was a large horse Patronus, much larger than Ginny's usual Patronus.
