The two sets of parents were absolutely overjoyed about the news, much to Hermione's delight. Any worry she had instantly dissipated and she was able to enjoy the rest of the dinner.

"What happened to not blurting it out?" Draco asked into her ear as they walked to the sitting room again.

Hermione shook her head and sighed. "I may have panicked slightly."

"Slightly?" He chuckled before kissing her temple. "At least now you don't have to worry."

She smiled at him and then was pulled away by Narcissa and Jean, who sat her down on one of the plush couches and began bombarding her with questions.

"So you're two months pregnant?" Narcissa asked excitedly.

Hermione nodded with a smile, absentmindedly putting a hand on her stomach. "We found out at four weeks and it's been a month since then."

"Why didn't you tell us sooner?" Jean asked, frowning slightly.

"Well..." Hermione faltered and leaned against the back of the couch with a sigh. "It was partly because I wanted to make sure nothing would happen to the baby between now and then, and I was worried that you would be unhappy since I'm so young..."

Jean laughed at this. "Hermione, you've been through so much already. And you're married! You're well old enough to make your own decisions!"

Hermione smiled. "I know, the worry was still there though."

"Have you gotten an ultrasound yet?" Jean asked, earning her an odd look from both Narcissa and Lucius.

"Not yet," Hermione shook her head. "I'm hoping to soon though; Ginny wants to get one as well."

"What is an 'ultrasound'?" Narcissa asked, looking between them.

"It's a muggle thing," Draco answered from one of the other chairs with a grin.

Hermione crinkled her nose at him and he laughed as she clarified, "It is a muggle thing, yes; it allows you to see the baby."

"Oh, I would love to see that!" Narcissa said excitedly. "Would we be able to go to this?"

"Of course!" Hermione laughed. "It's your grandchild too!"

"That's going to be interesting," Draco muttered from the chair. "All of us, plus Blaise and Ginny, and there's only three in the group who know what this even is."

Hermione laughed again. "It's going to be exciting, you will love it."

"Just let us know and we'll make sure to be there," Lucius said happily.

"Have you thought of any names yet?" Jean asked.

"Mum, we don't even know the gender yet!" Hermione said.

"That doesn't mean you can't pick out names," Richard said from behind her.

"I know," Hermione shrugged. "But Draco seems thoroughly convinced that it's going to be a boy."

"Well, the Malfoy family has only produced boys for the past century," Lucius nodded. "There's a very good chance that it's going to be a boy."

"Either way," Draco interrupted with a smile, "We're excited."

"Yes," Hermione smiled. "And this means that our child will be in Hogwarts at the same time as Blaise and Ginny's twins."

"Merlin, help them," Narcissa laughed.

"So wait," Richard interrupted. "Does this mean that our grandchild is going to be....what is it, Valas?"

"Veela," Hermione corrected gently. "And most likely, yes. They will have at least some traits, most likely the extended hearing and protectiveness."
