"Truth is, I miss you. All the time, every second, every minute, every hour, every day."~ Anonymous

“Full name?”
“Callie Rae Pierson.”
“Siblings?” (The questioner has clearly lost the ability to formulate full sentences – but I can’t say I blame her. It’s been a long day.)
“No.”
“Parents’ names?”
“John Pierson, Maryse Pierson, née Kravitz.”
“Cousins?”
“Two – Christina and Rose.”
“And your faction of birth?”
“Candor.”
“Thank you for your honesty. Now leave you pesky kids!” And I swear her eyes close from fatigue before we’ve even left the room.

Well I guess today’s just one of those repetitive type of days. Because as soon as we’re out in the corridor, Callie confronts me and starts bombarding me with questions as well.
“Why didn’t you tell us who your brother was, Amber Rose Seacole?” I flinch at the use of my last name.
“Don’t call me that, Cal. Besides,” I add, “you didn’t tell me you had cousins or even family. Why should I? I hate him enough to never want to see his ugly face again, and he’s just another Dauntless kid. Why would you care?”
The situation dawns on Callie as she realizes that she must know something that I obviously don’t. A tiny smirk that will inevitably soon grow into a bigger one plays on her face.
“Just another Dauntless kid? Just another Dauntless kid? Am, how could you not know this about your brother?”
Annoyed now, I stomp my foot. Won’t she just tell me? “Well, it’s not exactly like we exchange letters on a daily basis, is it? I haven’t seen or heard from him in two years. And know what, Callie?” I am growing impatient now, so Jules, appearing from his conversation about the best place to buy pet tropical fish with the Amity boy, puts me out of my misery.
“Amber, Eric’s not just some Dauntless kid. He’s one of the five Dauntless leaders.”
My jaw drops open, nearly low enough to polish my shoes (which would’ve been nice – bending down was just too much effort, however much I told Julian that I used to be on the Erudite track team at school and could beat his ass blindfolded any day). Eric was what? Oh, this was not good. Too much power… the power to make or destroy countless lives is in the hands of my brother? No. No, no, no, no. Someone older and better and wiser deserves this power, and they’ll get it if it’s the last thing I do – I don’t care what it takes. I’m not going to let my brother ruin other people and their lives the way he ruined me.

A/N: Enjoying the sunshine and the never-relenting sounds of the drills from next doors extension! I've got a burn on my arm... and it's nearly better, but it was on fire for like a day and a half. And then I accidently cut myself. On the burn. Happy days... Also, my writing progress was hampered by me hurting my thumb (why do these things always seem to happen to me?) so that wasn't great and i had to write in my notebook with my left hand and then i couldn't get my thoughts onto the paper quick enough to capture them all and then when i came to type it up... yeah, it was really messy and I sort of couldn't read it.
Oh the things I do for you!
Btw, the people who just read this and don't comment or vote, could you just say one 'hi' in the comments below this, a) so I know who's reading this and b) so I can look at your profile and check out your stories and maybe follow you and c)because I'd quite like to know what people i don't know yet think of my writing. I won't stalk you, I promise.
(Muahahahahaha)
Peace, love and pandas,
Rae x
