chapter eleven

Talia's POV

Edward didn't come home until early the next morning. "Where the hell were you?" I asked as soon as he walked in the door. "Bella knows. She figured it out by herself," he said. "Oh my God. We're dead. This is the end," Max said dramatically, falling backwards onto the couch. Edward rolled his eyes at him and turned to go upstairs.

"We're not even going to talk about this?!" Rose said. Edward turned around, "What is there to talk about? She knows, end of story!" "No, not end of story!" I said. Edward looked at me, but then turned sharply to Rosalie. "No! You are not going to kill Bella!"

"Rosalie," Esme scolded. "What? This is illegal! Humans aren't supposed to know, this is putting us all in danger," I said. Jasper layed his hand on my back and started rubbing circles. "Nobody is going to kill Bella, and that's final," Carlisle said. "We're not talking about this anymore. Bella and I are dating and there's nothing you two can do about it," Edward said looking at me and Rose.

"I'm going to hunt." I ran out of the house and Jasper follwed me. After 5 deer and a mountain lion, Jasper and I went back home. It was almost 6:30 and I really needed to get a shower. "I'm going to get a shower," I told Jasper as we walked upstairs. "Can I join you?" He asked. "Hey! We have to leave in like 45 minutes, so not shower sex!" Emmett yelled. I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, let's go."

Jasper and I went into the bathroom and I closed the door and started taking off my clothes.

About 30 minutes later, Jasper and I got out of the shower and got dressed. I put on a black off-the-shoulder shirt with ripped black jeans. I added the choker that Alice got me a while back. "Jazz, can you get my boots out of the closet?" I asked. He nodded and opened the closet door. "Uh, Tali? Which ones?" He asked. I looked over to see him standing beside the door and looking down at my 13 pairs of black boots. "The ones with the really long laces."

He picked up a pair of boots and handed them to me unsurely. "Thank you sugar." "Of course," he said kissing my head. I put on my boots and tied them. "Lets go guys, we need to leave," Alice said. Jasper and I went downstairs I grabbed the keys to Jasper's car. "Where's Edward?" I asked. "He went to pick up Bella for school," Max said. Fucking idiot. I sighed and walked outside to the cars. "I'm driving," I told Jasper and he nodded. "Rose, you wanna ride with us?" I asked. She nodded and got in the backseat. "Hey! You're gonna leave me? Babe?" Emmett asked. He was sitting in the front seat of Max's car with Max in the driver's seat and Alice in the back. "Sorry Em, she loves me more," I said getting in the car.

I started the car and started driving down the long driveway. We got to school before Edward and little miss human. We stood by the cars and waited for the bell to ring. When they finally pulled into the parking lot, I rolled my eyes. Edward got out and walked around the car to open the door for Bella. They got out and everybody was staring with their mouths open. Rose huffed in anger and Emmett tried soothing her.

"This is freaking ridiculous," I mumbled. "Everyone is staring," Bella whispered. "Not that guy. No, wait he just looked," Edward said. "I'm going to hell anyway, might as well break all the rules."

"No. No, you shouldn't," I said. He glanced at me out of the corner of his eye, but ignored me. Jasper kissed my forehead and grabbed my hand, pulling me with him into school.

Edward didn't sit with us at lunch. He sat with Bella at their own little table on the other side of the room. Douche bag. "Lighten up Talia. Aren't you happy for Edward? He's in love," Alice beamed. "I would be if he wasn't in love with a human." I scowled. "Get over yourself," Max rolled his eyes. "Shut up Max. I didn't ask for your opinion," I said. He shrugged, "Doesn't matter. You're going to get my opinion whether you ask for it or not."

I leaned my body against Jasper and sighed. "You should at least try to like her, you too Rose," Alice said. Rose rolled her eyes. "Fine. If I make an attempt, will you stop yelling at me about hating her?" I asked. Alice nodded, a big smile on her face. "You're such a good person," Jasper mumbled into my ear. I scoffed, "Have you met me?"

"Yes I have and you're wonderful." "Now you're just trying to make me feel better, " I accused. "What can I say? I love it when you're happy." "You guys are really gross," Max said wrinkling his nose in disgust. I stuck my tongue out at him like I used to when we were kids. "You're such a child," he said. "And you're not?" Alice asked. "You have a point."

The bell rang for the end of lunch and we gathered our things. Throwing away our food that remained untouched, like everyday, we went our separate ways to our classes. I walked with Emmett and Max to our math class and sat down, ready to wish for death.

At home that night, I sat and read Romeo and Juliet in my and Jasper's room because Carlisle wouldn't let me and Emmett watch the Titanic again. Which, by the way, I think is completely ridiculous. So while Emmett went to pout to Rosalie, I came upstairs to read with Jasper. But he and Max went out hunting a little while ago, so it was just me now.

Well, until Edward got home. He came up to my room and knocked on the door. "Come in." He opened the door and walked in. "Can we talk?" I nodded and sat my book down, sitting up on the bed. He walked over and sat next to me and stared at the floor. "I'm sorry that we're always fighting over Bella," he said. "You're my sister and I don't want you to be mad at me for the rest of eternity." I smiled lightly, "Edward, I could never be mad at you for that long. I love you just as much as I love Max and Emmett, well maybe a bit more than Max. But that's not the point. The point is, I don't want us to continue fighting about this. I know that you love her, I just don't want to see this end badly for any of us, including her."

"Thank you Talia. I'm glad we're on the same page with this. I think I'm going to bring Bella over to the house this weekend," he said. My eyes widened, "You're what? I don't know if that's such a good idea," I said unsurely. "Why not?" He asked. "How about because two of your siblings still have trouble with their thirst?" I asked. "You and Jasper will be fine. If not, Alice will see it and will keep you guys out. Esme really wants to meet Bella," Edward said. "Fine," I sighed, "but it's not my fault if anything happens."
