YUMIKO

Ilang ulit akong bumuntong-hininga bago muling tumingin sa labas. Tanaw na tanaw ko mula rito sa opisina ko ang kalsada at ilang gusali. Naalala kong muli ang sinabi ni mommy kanina.

I've always been not myself lately. I've been childish and immature.

"Yumiko, can you pull yourself together? You're not a child anymore. Hindi porque spoiled ka sa amin ay aabuso ka na. Anak, ang tanda mo na. Stop being a spoiled brat. I won't let you meddle on your twin sister's case if you keep on acting like this.

This have to be wise and quick." she pointed at my head

"This have to be tough." she pointed at my chest

"I want you fight alongside with us pero hindi mo magagawa iyon kung ganyan ka. Please, bring me back the old Yumiko." she said sternly

I composed myself when I heard a knock. Bumukas iyon at pumasok ang sekretarya ko, si Margareth or Maggie for short.

"Ma'am, the orientation for the new employees will start in ten minutes. Nagbilin po si Sir Alistair na kayo nalang po ang mag-attend sa orientation. He's in the middle of a meeting right now." imporma nito sa akin

I remained silent. Damn you, Ali. Playing dirty, huh? Is this some kind of a punishment? Alam niyang ayaw na ayaw kong pumupunta sa orientation ng mga bagong empleyado dahil kailangan naming makisalamuha sa maraming tao at magbigay ng talumpati.

I sighed. Guess, I'll have to deal with it.

"Let's go."

She looked at me dumfounded. It must be a rare sight not to hear any complaints from me.

"How's the investigation going?" I asked her when we stepped inside the elevator

"We tried to follow the Virmont siblings' tracks but they don't seem to be the culprit. I asked Sir Cloud about them, sinabi niyang sakanya nila nalaman ang nangyari sa mga empleyado sa firm." she answered

I smirked and crossed my arms on my chest. Hindi kailan man pagtatakpan ni Kuya Cloud ang mga kapatid niya, I'm sure of it. If it's not them, then it must be the other villain.

"Start investigating Mrs. Virmont."

Gulat niya akong nilingon pero mabilis siyang tumango nang makitang hindi ako nagbibiro. I will never forget how she treated Alistair before. Kahit sa harap ko ay pinapakita niya ang pagmamalupit niya kay Alistair. I am not that powerless teenager anymore.

As soon as I stepped out of the elevator, I was welcomed with an unwelcome guest. Hindi ko napigilan ang pagtaas ng kilay ko at nanatiling nakakrus ang mga braso ko sa dibdib ko. I looked at Kuya Cloud who's obviously hesistant to approach me.

"Kuya, this may sound rude but I don't want them inside my teritorry." malamig na sabi ko

Drizella flicked her tongue and looked away which is kind of odd for her to do. I was expecting a rude comeback from her. Neon just stood silently while looking at me. He's so weird, so I rolled my eyes at him and he suddenly looked away.

Kuya Cloud shook his head and smiled at me. Lumapit siya sa akin at inakbayan ako.

"I fired them." he said simply

Gulat ko na nagpabalik-balik ang tingin ko sa kanilang tatlo. I was about to ask again when Maggie interrupted.

"Ma'am, I'm sorry to interrupt but we'll be late."

Puno ng pagtataka ang mukha kong tumango at sumunod kay Maggie. Sumunod naman silang tatlo sa akin at bahagya pa akong nagulat nang makitang naupo sila sa upuan ng mga bagong empleyado. I already have a clue but I don't want to believe it.
