My shattered dreams and broken heart
Are mending on the shelf
I saw you holding hands standing close to someone else
Now I sit all alone, wishing all my feeling was gone
-----------------------------------------------------------As the time passed, more and more people were leaving the agency for the night. The sky dark, moon glowing for all eyes to see. Inside the agency building, a bright fluorescent light shown through one of the many windows. Levi and Eren were in the room, discussing the case thoroughly.
"Do you know of anyone that might work with Kenny? Other than his men?" Eren asked, picking both feet up from the floor and placing them on the table.
Their office was bigger than what most might think. That was because when they first started detective work, the entire room was a mess from the case they were taking. After that, Erwin made sure they always had a big office.
Inside said office were 2 desks, right next to each other. A small table in the center, a few corkboards hung up around the walls containing various things (from their best cases to pictures of when they were young to now). A huge white board was fastened to one wall, completely covered with black marker ink about the case. Papers were strewn across the table that was in the middle. But neither men cared about that, they were far too tired to.
"Other than people he used to work with, nobody. Then again, I don't really know much about my Uncle." Levi said, laying his head against the table. He had pushed papers away and was using his parka as a pillow.
"You tired?" Eren asked, barely looking up from the folder he snatched from Erwin's office. He was just examining the folder itself, all its contents were scattered over the table. If Eyebrows wanted it back, he would have to piece it back together.
"Very, lets just go home Eren. Maybe something will happen over the weekend, but right now we have nothing. Still." Levi lifted his head slightly, his hair getting in his eyes. He was far too tired to care.
"Your right. Im sorry for keeping you so late." Eren apologised, looking at his watch and seeing the time was 3:27 a.m. It was very late at night, and neither men wanted to stay any longer.
As they left the agency, sluggishly throwing on their parkas and holding onto one another to keep from falling, Erwin watched. He watched as the two men, basically, fell into their car.
Erwin sighed, walking back to where his chair was. He only touched the back, not wanting to sit down just yet.
"Oh Suz, if only you hadn't died so soon." He whispered, tears building up in his eyes. He opened a locked drawer in the desk, pulling out a picture frame that was turned upside down. He flipped it over and stared at the picture.
The picture was of a family, Erwin on the left and on the right was a woman. The woman had light blonde hair, the tips of it were coloured a light blue. Like Erwin's eyes. She was young and beautiful, she wore dark jeans and a white blouse. Around her neck was a golden locket necklace, inside held a picture of her and her faithful husband.
In the middle was a child, which was also blonde. She had such an elated grin on her face, holding onto both her mother and fathers hand. She stood, showing off her pretty lilac dress. Her hair was long, pulled into a french braid. Her eyes were blue, just like her fathers. Her cheeks were flushed pink due to the sun shining down on them in the picture.
As Erwin looked at the picture, a few stray tears fell from his face. He smiled at the two girls, his favourite people in the entire world. He took the frame and opened it, revealing the hard copy of the picture. In the back it read "my favourite people. I love you both, Susan and Elizabeth. -Erwin."
Before he knew it, he was sobbing. He clutched the picture close to his chest and fell to the floor, crying his eyes out.
He never wanted to loose them, they were so important to him. Susan was walking their daughter (Lizzy) to the park right next to their house. As they crossed the street, looking both ways to make sure no cars were coming, a drunk driver pulled up. Neither girls realized it until it was too late. The drunk driver ran them bother over and kept driving. The police caught the guy, but that didn't help the trauma in which Erwin was put through.
That was 2 years ago, he was no better now than he was then.
