But I gotta be strong
You did me wrong
When I thought that we were really down
So you say you want me
Make up your mind
'Cause I'm not gonna be here for long
-----------------------------------------------------------"Okay! I have all my materials, now it's just time to get the bullet out." Hange spoke, waving her hands in the air.
"Stop monologuing, we don't have all day." Levi said, his voice harsh. He just wanted to leave, to go home and not have to deal with Kenny. Or the case they were working on. But that would only be a dream.
"Yeah yeah. Now, how did you two meet?" She asked, taking a pair of tweezers and sticking them in Eren's wound. She felt around until she could tell where the bullet is. It wasn't that far down, but it would still take some precision.
"Back in highschool, actually." Eren said, looking towards Levi as if asking if it was okay to continue. The ravenette only shrugged, a sign for Eren to continue. "Levi had just moved here, he was staying with his cousins family for a while. My best friend, Mikasa, is his cousin. She introduced me, and we instantly became friends. Well, to me at least. I always tried to hang out with him, study with him, just anything to be with him. But he was persistent on staying alone and smoking nicotine. It wasn't until Mikasa's family kicked him out that he seeked my help. We eventually grew closer, until I pushed him out for selfish reasons." Eren finished, his voice trailing off. Hange stood working, listening intently to Eren's story.
"Interesting. Next question, are you two dating, married, enemies, whatever?" Hange asked, fixing the tool she was using to widen the hole. It had slipped due to the mass amount of blood that was caked around the wound.
"We're boyfriends. We live together and convinced Eyebrows to let us be professional partners." Levi spoke up, walking over to the other side of Eren.
They continued talking for some time, even after Eren was all stitched up. As the two men were walking to their car, they notices something taped onto their front window.
"The hell is that?" Levi muttered, quickly walking over and snatching the piece of paper. Eren ran over to Levi's side, reading the paper from behind his shoulder.
"Another note from our guy." Eren said, running his fingers through his hair.
----------
"Eren." Levis spoke sternly, we stood behind the brunette with his arms crossed. Said male was closely examining the note they had gotten from "The Hunter". He only hummed, a response Levi was used to getting.
"Stop, you need to eat." Levi stepped forward, about to grab the papers from the boys hands. Only he couldn't, for Eren knew Levi would pull this stunt. Eren pulled the papers into a folder and spun around in his chair. He looked up, staring directly into Levi's eyes.
Oh, his eyes. Eren thought the world of those beautiful blue eyes. They were blue and gray, they are extraordinarily gorgeous. The two colours complimented each other perfectly, adding a glow to the ravenette before him. And don't forget his hair. Eren could and would never forget it. It was black, like a pure black. Completely dark. It matched his pale skin tone to a tee. His hair cut made Levi all the more spectacular.
And yet, Eren could never understand why Levi had chosen him of all people. Eren was just ordinary.
Levi stared back down into Eren's eyes. His cold glare turning soft when he saw the rings under his eyes. His eyes were also bloodshot, probably from crying earlier. After hearing Marco was dead, it took him a few days to fully process everything. And when he finally did, he tried to make sure no one knew.
Eren kept to himself those few days, always putting work first. He had been constantly looking into every detail he could. But to no avail could Eren find any connections to the suspects.
Levi was concerned about this. Extremely concerned. He would have to bring Eren meals at night because the brunette wouldn't leave his office chair for a second to do so. That's why this was the last straw for Levi. He needed to do something that could help his poor lover.
"Why should I eat?" Eren retorted, referring to Levi's, previously unanswered, question.
"You need to eat to live." Levi explained, not wanting to act like some sort of dumb psychiatrists.
"And what if I don't want to live?" Levi stood there, unsure of how to answer this. There had been many occasions where Eren spoke like this, and it usually never ended well. Especially the first time.
"Well, I'll show you why you should live." Levi grabbed a hold of Eren's calloused hand and pulled him out of their office. He dragged the poor brunette onto their apartments balcony. There, Levi had set up a table with food. It was nothing complex (really, it was take out chinese food), but that didn't matter to Eren. What mattered was that Levi did this for him.
And that's all that will ever matter about this moment.
