"Good evening, Detectives Ackerman and Jaeger. I presume your here for the murder investigation." The newest freelance detective (more like Erwin's personal assistant)-Armin Arlert-says, a bright smile on his face and a tray of coffee in his hand.
"No, we were called in to poach some elephants." Levi says stoically and sarcastically. His eyes half lidded, already bored of the conversation. "Of course we were called in for the murder, Arlert. Who do you think we are?!"
"Sorry about him, Armin." Eren says, leaning down to whisper in Armin's ear. "He's just upset because Erwin interrupted us." Armin nods understandably and rushes off to tell Erwin his top investigators had arrived.
"Detective Ackerman, Detective Jaeger. What a pleasure to see the two special investigators again." A sour voice said behind them. The boys turned, staring face to face with Ymir Reiss. Once a cold hearted person and hater of humanity, now a better person. Behind her stood her partner Marco Bott, giving an apologetic smile towards Eren and Levi. Levi dismisses her and walks past her, shoving Ymir into Marco. Eren followed after Levi, apologizing for the shorter mans actions.
"So, Grade Z Kirstein, what news do you have of the suspect?" Levi asked as soon as the two boys walked behind Jean Kirstein. Jean turned around, huffing when he saw Eren. He then looked down to the clipboard he was holding and read to them the information.
"Name: Sasha Ashly Blouse-Springer
Age: 30
Partner: Connie Springer
Family: Her husband, Connie Springer, and her parents.
Other: She was stabbed in the back, the murder weapon has not been found. There are no finger prints near or on Mrs. Blouse-Springer that we are aware of. She has been here for months, killed sometime during winter when that huge storm his us. If she had been abused then there is no way to know, for the bruises healed quickly due to the cold. We believe the murderer to be a close friend (or even her husband), but there is no way to know for certain. Seeing as it has taken us so long to find her-her husband had sent a missing persons alert back at the beginning of December-there is no telling if we will be able to put her killer to justice."
"Thank you, Jean. Now, shall we see the body?" Eren asked, anxious to see the dead body. He had never worked on a case this complex, never this...interesting. There was nothing that was going to stop Eren Jaeger from working on this case, not even his own boyfriend-who had started checking out the body and scene the minute Kirstein showed them where it was-.
"Hey Eren, come over here and check this out." Levi said, crouching down over something. Eren walked over to where Levi was, looking at a ripped piece of cloth. Eren-quickly-pulled on his rubber gloves and picked it up, inspecting it before Levi could.
The cloth was just from a T-shirt, the colour being black with a small part of some design on it. The material was polyester, like most T-shirts. Finding DNA would be the hard part, seeing as it had been in the winter when this crime took place. Animals must have stumbled upon the body one way or another, or maybe not. The crime scene was on the side of the road-a road not many people used. It was just a back route from the mall to some neighbourhood. There was nothing special about this road, but maybe it was the fact that there was nothing special about it made it so...special.
"The perfect spot for a murder, on a road no one uses." Eren said before lifting his head-looking right at Armin Arlert (who had wandered over to where the boys were). "Armin, see if you can get Erwin to send some people out to all the rarely used spots in Rose. I want them all checked, to see if there are more bodies." Armin nodded, then rushed over to Erwin, who was talking to some crazy looking lady.
"Have you figured anything out yet, Eren?" Levi asked, not looking away from the stab wound on Sasha's torso.
"Not yet, we have to wait until the autopsy on the body and a clear inspection of the crime scene from the Science Department until we really start to figure out this case."
"Okay Eren, let's head home now?"
"Yes." And with that the two boys hopped back into their car and drove back to their small house-Levi driving the whole way back. They talked about the case, but it turned into a lot of speculations and theories very quickly.
