Okay so basically im using american schooling bc idek what it is any where else. kindergarten-5th grade is elementary school, you usually get out of that at like 10-11 years old depending on your birthday. then there's middle school which is 6th grade- to 8th grade. you usally get out of that when you're 13-14 depending on your birthday once again. then high school is 9th grade-12th grade and you graduate usually when you're 17-18. so yeah there.
Ashton (Age 11):
"Oh, God, oh, God, oh, God." You whisper as you sit in the car with Ashton. He was dropping you off at the middle school for your first day.
"You okay?" He asks as he takes a turn to pull onto the street of the middle school.
"No," You reply.
"You'll be fine, Y/N. Trust me. If I survived, you can too." He tells you.
"What if I die?"
"You won't," He continues.
"But what if I do?"
"Then I get your room."
"Ash!"
"You'll be fine, just wait until high school." He continues.
"You're really not helping," You say as he pulls into a parking lot.
"Y/N. Listen to me. You're amazing okay, you're going to go in there and knock em all dead. You're going to survive this year, and the next year and the year after, okay?" He says.
You take a deep breath a nod, "Now go get em," He says and you open the door and step out.
"I'll pick you up at four." He says, and pulls away.
Luke (Age 14):
"Oh my, God." You say for the umpteenth time as you sit in the car with Luke in front of the high school.
"Are you okay?"
"No! I'm going to die, oh my, God. This is scary. I'm going to get lost, the teachers are going to yell at me, and then I'll cry in front of everyone." You gush out.
"No you're not," He says.
"You don't know that! Oh, God, I'm gonna puke." You say holding your stomach.
"Hey," He says, putting a hand on your shoulder.
You look at him, "I survived high school,"
"You dropped out!" You cut him off.
"That's besides the point, and Mom made me finish, ya dork. As I was saying, you'll survive high school just like everyone else does."
"But I'm going to cry." You say.
"You'll be fine, it's not that bad."
"But there's so many people, oh, God."
"You'll be fine, I swear. And if not, I'll take you out for ice cream after school," He says.
You take one last deep breath before opening the door, "Okay," You say quietly as you step out.
"I love youuu," He says in a sing song voice and you force a smile.
Calum (Age 18):
Calum was helping you move into your dorm at the college, and you were terrified. You were so scared that everything would shatter down before it began.
College was definitely not like it was in the movies and in the fanfictions.
"You okay?" Cal asked you noticing your breathing.
"No," You tell him.
"What's up?" He asks sitting on your bed.
"I am going to die." You say, "Oh God, I'm not ready for this."
"Hey, hey," He says, stopping your pacing.
"You'll be fine," He tells you.
"How do you know?! You never went to college!" You say.
"But I know that if you're not stupid and stay on top of your studies instead of partying every night, you'll pass in flying colors." He says.
"Partying? Pft, I have no friends." You say, which wasn't a lie.
You were the only one out of your group of friends going to the college you were going to, and you weren't exactly happy about that.
"You'll be okay," He says, patting your arm as he stands up, "Let's go get the rest of the stuff."
You sigh, and nod.
The only thing you could do was take his word for it.
Michael (Age 5):
"Why can't I just stay home?" You complain as Michael helped you into the car.
"Because, you have to go to school and learn." He tells you.
You didn't go to preschool because your mom didn't believe that it helped any. This was your first time going to school, ever. "Why?" You ask again.
"Because that's how you survive,"
"I can't survive by watching The Wonder Pets all day?"
"Not very well," He says getting in the front seat.
He was driving you today, as your mom had to work and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get it off.
"But I want to stay home with you and Mommy. You're leaving again soon, and then I won't see you anymore." You continue.
His heart clenches. He wanted nothing more than to turn the car around and let you stay home, but he knew that your mom would have his head if he did so.
"You'll be fine, okay? You'll get to draw, and color, and play. You'll make friends and have an amazing time. And before you know it, the day will be over, and you'll want to come back again tomorrow."
"Really?" You ask.
"Yeah, it'll be fun!" He says as he pulls into the school drive way.
"You'll be back, right?" You ask, doubtful.
"Of course I will." He says as helps you out and walks with you toward the front of the building.
"Okay," You say happily.
