let her go (acoustic) // passenger
"Well you only need the light when it's burning low, only miss the sun when it starts to snow, only know you love her when you let her go," Quinten sang as we sat in the basement at my house. He played the guitar so beautifully
"Only know you've been high when you're feeling low, only hate the road when you're missing home," I sang with him and he stopped. He nodded for me to keep going. "Only know you love her when you let her go. And you let her go."
"Um, Olivia, you can sing?" Quinten asked me as he stopped strumming.
"Uh, yeah. A little. I don't do it often," I smiled at him.
"You should! What songs do you know that I might?" He asked me.
"One of my favorites to sing," I looked at him. "Landslide by Fleetwood Mac."
"Of course I know that one," he said and then looked down at his guitar, tuning it again and then strumming some chords.
"I took my love, I took it down, climbed a mountain and I turned around," I sang as he played. "I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills 'til the landslide brought me down."

32 minutes agoParker, Randy, and I had invited everyone over to have some drinks and now we were just singing, dancing, and having fun. It was moments like this that make me realize how lucky I am to have such amazing friends.
"Hey now, don't that make you feel a whole lot better? Huh?" Parker sang to Quinten and I just stared at them and laughed. "I say, don't that make you feel a whole lot better? What you say?"
My phone chimed as I watched them dance and sing along to the music. I looked down and my heart started beating when I seen it was a text from Austin.
Austin: i need you.
Liv 💛: No you don't.
Austin: liv please. i wouldn't bother you if it wasn't important.
Liv💛: Jesus. Where are you?
Austin: the bankI locked my phone and huffed. I shouldn't go. But what if he really needs me? Fuck, I hate him.
"Hey, I'm gonna run to the store," I told them. They're all having too much fun to miss me. "Anyone need anything?"
"Nah, we're good. You can take my car if you want," Izzy slurred. "Love youuuu."
"Love you, too," I chuckled at her before grabbing her keys.
I drove there fairly quickly, wondering the whole time if this was the right decision. It didn't matter because here I was, outside of the building. I got out of the car and locked it, walking into the building after scanning the card Austin made me keep.
I went up to the top floor, walking onto the roof and seeing Austin sitting down, leaning his head against the short wall that covered the perimeter of the rooftop. He wasn't looking at the city which worried me.
"Hey," I breathed and he opened his eyes.
"Thank you for coming," he said, standing up. His tear-filled eyes were glistening underneath the dim light.
"What's wrong? Why did you need me up here?" I asked him as he stepped closer to me.
"I broke up with Lily," He told me and I sighed.
"That's really why you wanted me to come up here?" I scoffed. "To console you after you broke yet another girl's heart?"
"No, Olivia! Not exactly," He said and I crossed my arms. "I just want to let you know that I made a mistake. You're who I'm supposed to be with."
"You chose Lily over me," I nodded to him, tears filling my eyes as well. "And you can never take that back, Austin."
"I didn't choose her over you," He told me. "I thought you would be better off without me in your life."
"When I told you that, you told me that it wasn't my decision to make," I looked at him. "I know how to make my own damn choices."
"I know," He nodded. "I know that. And it would mean a lot to me if you would make a choice to forgive me."
"I'm not holding a grudge," I told him. "I can forgive you a million times but that doesn't change anything, does it?"
"Why doesn't it change anything?" He asked.
"Let me tell you what I think," I said to him. "You seen that Lily was using you. She didn't come home with random surprises for you, she didn't cook you breakfast in the mornings, she didn't laugh with you after sex, she didn't play with your hair while she kissed your nose and told you she loves you with everything in her."
Austin just stared at me and that's how I knew I was right.
"She was revenge, Austin. You used her just like she used you," I told him. "Do you love her? Honestly, though. Don't try to spare my feelings."
"I want to tell you I do," He nodded. "But I'd be lying to both of us."
"So why the hell did you keep her around?" I questioned. "You know there are tons of girls out there that would die to lay beside you at night and have you rub their back."
"I don't give a fuck, they aren't you," He said, a tear falling down his cheek. "I kept her around because I couldn't lose her if she wanted me for something other than love."
"Get your priorities straight," I shook my head at him. "You have got to find love in your heart again. Stop hating yourself for this. It does no good."
"I miss you, Liv," he said softly. "I just want us back to normal."
"Austin, that's just not in the cards right now," I sighed. "Quinten makes me happy."
"Just like you said about Lily, does he do all the things I done for you?" He questioned and I shook my head once again.
"That's the thing about Quinten," I glared at him. "He's not you."
