"Olivia!" Randy snapped me out of my trance. "Jesus, I've been saying your name for like 3 minutes."
"Sorry, I'm just-," I cut myself off. I don't know what I was.
"I know, it's tough. But you have me and Parker," she sat down next to me on the couch, holding my hand. "We love you so much."
"I love you guys," I nodded. "I just feel so small."
"What do you mean by that?" Parker asked me, walking in and sitting on the other side of me.
"Austin is touring the country and meeting so many people and doing so many things," I said, trying my hardest not to cry. "How can I possibly fit into that?"
"Because you're his world, babe," Randy rubbed my leg. "He loves you so much. And that isn't gonna change just because he's famous now."
"I don't deserve him," I shook my head, finally letting a tear fall out. "I'm nothing compared to him."
"Olivia, when you two met, he was an awful guy. No one liked him," Parker explained to me. "But you changed him. You turned him into this amazing Austin that no one knew existed."
"That's right," Randy agreed. "And he would be stupid to let someone like you go. You've done wonders for this boy."
"Oh, but he's done wonders for me," I told them. "Somehow, he's made me a better person, too."
"Listen, you're a strong woman with or without him," Randy told me. "But you're still his girlfriend. Why are you so upset?"
"We've been so distant. I just know it's not going to work," More tears rolled down my cheek. It was getting uncontrollable. "We barely talk. And when we do, it's for maybe five minutes."
"Then, maybe you guys should just take a break while he's on tour," Parker suggested. I looked at him in shock. The thought of losing Austin was scary. "Just so you don't have to worry about him while he's away."
"Maybe he's right," Randy shrugged. "Maybe it would be best for both of you."
"I don't know," I sighed. "I love him too much to let him go."
"You're not letting him go," Parker told me. "You're just giving him some space, and giving yourself some too."
"Yeah," I sighed deeply. "Maybe."
"Randy and I are going out with Taylor and Izzy," Parker stood up. "Do you want to go?"
"I really don't feel like being the oddball out tonight," I shook my head. "Thanks, though."
"Olivia, we don't try to make you feel left out," Randy stood up as well. "We're all your friends."
"I know, just go. I'm fine. Have fun," I smiled at them. "Love you guys."
"Love you too," Randy rolled her eyes and walked away. I didn't feel like dealing with her attitude. Parker leaned down to hug me and kissed my forehead.
They walked out of the door and I started thinking about what they said. It broke my heart but maybe they were right. I was so worried about Austin. It consumed my thoughts. Maybe we did need to take a break.
I decided I'd call and talk to him. To ease my mind.
I got my phone out and wiped my tears, calling Austin. It rang a few times before he answered.
"Hey baby!" He answered. I was glad he was so happy while I was so sad. It wasn't his fault, though. I wanted him happy.
"Hey," I said softly. "I was wondering if we could tal-"
"Yeah! Yeah, put it there, that's fine!" Austin cut me off, talking to someone that was around him. I sighed. "Perfect."
"Austin, I-," I tried to say but was cut off again.
"Hold on, babe," he told me and then started talking to someone else. "Yeah, that's good. That's gonna be where I sit while I sing Feeling Whitney. Is that okay? Well, you can put it on the other side of the-,"
I hung up, huffing as I done so. I was so frustrated. He probably didn't even notice I had hung up. I was upset even though I knew he was busy. He didn't mean it to be rude. I was just sad.
My phone rang, it was Austin. I almost didn't want to answer. But I did because I love him.
"Hello?" I sighed as I put the phone to my ear.
"I'm sorry, babe," he said to me. "I'm just so busy trying to help set up the stage. What did you want to talk about?"
"It's nothing," I said to him, picking my nails. I was nervous.
"Well, you can tell me what it is tomorrow because I have a surprise," he said and I could imagine him smiling which made me smile. "If you want to, I want to fly you in tomorrow and stay with you for the weekend."
"You don't have to do that, Austin," I told him even though I would want nothing more.
"I want to," He said to me. "I miss you so much. I literally cannot stand it."
"I miss you, too. So much," I breathed, twirling my hair around my finger. "I'd love to."
"I'm so excited," he chuckled. "I will send you the confirmation code and time for the flight, okay baby?"
"Okay," I nodded as I spoke into the phone.
"I have to go, but I love you so much, Liv," he said in a soft tone that sent chills down my spine. "I don't want you to ever forget that."
"I don't want you to forget it."
