So before  y'all read this I'd just like to say thanks for all the reads, comments, and votes I've been  getting lately. It means a lot to me seeing people get into this story and actually liking it.

"C'mon, just tell me where you're taking me" I pleaded, before watching Cliff let out a chuckle and slowly shake his head.

"No ma, I told you it's a surprise" He replide as he slowed down to a stoplight. I rolled my eyes and sat back against my seat.

"Fine, you win."

He looked over at me and smiled. I just playfully mugged him then proceeded to pull the mirror down from the car roof, leaning over and checking up on my makeup and hair.

"Whatchu checkin yourself out for?" Cliff asked. "You lookin' fine as hell tonight."

I rubbed a bit of smudged eyeliner off of the area underneath my waterline.

"I gotta make sure my hair and makeup stays in tact" I explained simply. I put the mirror back up and grinned as I looked over at him, noticing the displeasure in his expression.

"What?" I asked.

"Women" He mumbled.

When we arrived at the restaruant later on, Cliff opened the front doors for me, motioning for me to walk in with his free hand.

"Ladies first" he said with a wink.

"Why thank you, gentlemman" I replied fancily, winking back at him before walking in.

This place was really nice, I had to admit. It was half-occupied and quiet with silent chatters. The stomach-rumbling smell of garlic bread and pasta sauce filled the room and made my mouth water.

Cliff and I walked side-by-side over to a reservation podium, where Cliff dapped up the guy standing behind it.

"Neal, my man" Cliff greeted.

"Watchu doin' here if you ain't workin'?" Neal asked. Wait, this is the restaurant that cliff works at?

"I'm just takin' this lady out" Cliff said proudly, lightly putting an arm around me. I could feel my cheeks warm up as they blushed.

"Who knew you could get a girl so beautiful?" They guy responded, looking at me with a complimenting smile, which I flashed back, blushing once more.

"Watchu tryna say?" Cliff asked defensively. Neal and I just laughed.

"Thank you" I told him, ignoring Cliff's back-talk. "I like your tux."

Flattered, Neal pulled on his tuxedo jacked with pride.

"Anyway fool" Cliff began. "We made a free reservation here."

"Yea yea, follow me and I'll bring your black asses to your table" Neal said. We followed him to one of the tables covers dressed in white cloth and situated ourselves across from each other. Neal handed us our menus, and with a "Have a good night y'all", he winked at us and turned back to return to his podium.

"So you work here?" I asked in amazement, gawking around at the scenery with gleaming eyes. He let out a small laugh as he opened his menu, but proceeded to answer me before he scanned through it.

"Yup, what do you think?"

"I think you work at a nice ass restaurant, this place is the shit!"

"And it's free since I work here" he pointed out.

After we decided what we wanted and placed our menus down, a waiter came over and took our orders, and I knew I had to order some of that spaghetti and garlic bread that I smelled when I came in here - that shit is irresistable.

"You're over here being served when you work here" The waiter had joked to cliff, shaking his head before he began to walk off, but when he did he'd stopped after a couple inches behind Cliff, turned around, looked me up and down and winked at me before continuing to walk off. I cleared my throat in discomfort and scooted my chair closer to the chair. I tend to sometimes make a lot of random movement when I'm nervous or uncomfortable.

"You alright?" Cliff asked. I guess he noticed.

"Uh, yea" I said.

We drifted to conversation as we waited for our food to come. I'd asked him how his sister was doing, and he said fine, then we went on talking about my career and stuff.

"What do you plan to do when you grow up?" He asked, taking a miniature bite from his butter roll.

"Who knows man" I said truthfully, shaking my head at myself. "I ain't got nothin' goin on for me right now."

"What about college?" He asked. I shrugged.

"Too many expenses that I can't worry about at the moment. I mean I've always wanted to go to college then go to beauty school and become a beautician. but..." I trailed off, knowing he'd catch my drift.

"Oh, that choice makes sense" He said.

"What you mean?"

"A beautiful girl wanting to be a beautician. That fits perfectly."

At that I smiled. I was really starting to like Cliff - well I mean, it's kinda hard not to. He's just so charming and sweet, and hey, he took me to this bomb ass restaurant,

After about 15 minutes of talking about switched-up subjects, I noticed a waiter coming towards our table, holding high a tray of food in one hand, which held our exact orders.

"Ooh, I think that's our food" I said to Cliff, nodding towards the waiter behind him.

When Cliff turned around, that's when shit went down.
