Fourth period came by fast. Unfortunately, Ryan had Sarah's schedule so she barely spoke to me in child care, choir, and chemistry. I didn't hear one apology from the guy, which I really was looking forward to. All I heard were giggles and how it was a sign that they were meant to be because they had chemistry class together. Blah! I was so grateful to be alone in history. It was way better than watching Sarah and Ryan rub their noses together. Talk about downright, disgusting.
I walked into history class and saw that Mr. Blake, my history teacher last year, was writing on the Smartboard. He was my favorite teacher last year. Instead of assigning book work, we had deep, meaningful class discussions. I was very happy to see his face. Finally something good happened to me today.
"Hey, Mr. Blake", I greeted as I sat in the desk closest to his and the window. I placed my bookbag on the floor and took out a Lysol wipe. I wiped the top of my desk tiny desk. Who knows who used this desk before me? They could have sneezed on it and I would've touched it! Germs are just... Ew!
"Natalie! One of my favorite sophomore students of all time", Mr. Blake said as he ran his fingers through his blonde stubs. His hair looked like the back of a sheep, to me. Yet, every girl in school thinks he's the hottest teacher in the school. Of course, I disagree. Mr. Lakewood, my gym teacher, is way hotter. He can get the 'P' any day.
I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard books slam on to the desk behind me. I whipped my head around and to my surprise, Peter was the book slammer. "Peter... Why can't you just place your books on your desk? Why do you have to slam it like you're trying to smash a cockroach?"
"Because", Peter slumped in his desk. "Brielle and I had a huge argument."
I puffed out my chest. Did he really just say he had an argument with Brielle? Well, it's not like I care or anything... "Over what?"
Peter leaned close. So close that we were only a couple inches away from making out. "Brielle, told me, that I was way too nice."
"Okay... what else?"
"That's it."
I flat out laughed in Peter's face. Peter leaned back on his seat and folded his arms. I held up my pointer finger. "Wait a minute. Do you not think you're nice?"
"I think I'm nice but I don't think I'm too nice."
"Dude, you're so nice, bunnies are meaner than you."
The bell rang and Mr. Blake sat at his desk. Peter whispered into my ear, "We'll continue this conversation after class." Let's just say, every hair on my whole body stood up. I really wanted to just turn around and kiss him but, I knew that would be completely inappropriate. It isn't proper school behavior.
Come on, Nat! You are too smart to have a high school crush dictate your life! When you are a lawyer, then you can date anyone you want. But high school is where you need complete focus.
"Natalie! I asked you to please tell us something you know but others might not know. Go!" Mr. Blake instructed. Oh how I hate being put on the spot.
"Uh-um-duh" I stammered. "I know! In early Rome, a father could legally kill anyone in his family."
"Good! So our topic today is going to be about Rome." Majority of the class groaned. It is the first day of school. We shouldn't, really, be learning anything.
"Natalie. Can you please show me where the cafeteria is after this? I'm new here", asked a really pretty blonde that sat in the desk next to me. Her eyes were bluish greenish and her hair were in perfect ringlets. She was wearing this floral dress that really complimented her figure. It's weird because, I didn't even see her walk in.
