I decided to go check on Dean, since I am a very nice person, and it just seemed to be the right thing to do. I stood outside the door that said: Dean O'brien and positioned my fist to knock on the door. For some odd reason, I couldn't knock. I mean, what if he yells at me? But if I'm going to provide evidence that I know Dean, I have to knock.
"You are such an ass, Ethan! I can't have you as a manager anymore!"
Uh oh. Dean sounds really mad. Should I leave?
Before I could leave, the door swung open. I probably shitted my pants but I do know that I was completely frozen. Dean placed his hand on his hip and kept tapping his foot on the ground.
"Can I help you?" he sort of asked, loudly. I wanted to say something but my mouth wouldn't move. "What's wrong? Cat got your tongue?"
Oh, that's it.
"I wanted to be nice and check up on you. I didn't have to, mister. And if your acting career doesn't work out, a fast good joint would definitely love to hire you. Especially since you love to say 'Can I help you'?"
Dean's eyebrow went up. "Since when does a fast food place say 'Can I help you'? The places I go, they say 'May I take your order'."
"Whatever. Same shit. Are you okay or not?" I asked, very annoyed.
Dean sighed. "I'm just... stressed. No one takes me seriously. They think I'm this little kid but I'm not. Should I just go crazy to show I'm grown?"
I felt a little weird giving Dean advice. I mean, I'm no Dr. Phil. But I had to say something. His eyes were watery and he looked like he was about to cry.
"I think you should stop with your little hissy fits. You sound like a twelve year old that's upset because he couldn't get the video game he always wanted."
Dean nodded. "You're right." I am?
"Of course I am."
"Finally, someone who doesn't sugarcoat everything because I'm famous", he said with a smile. It felt good to make someone happy.
"Yeah, well, I'm going to go", I told him. I turned but Dean tugged on my wrist.
"Wait. I was wondering if you wanted to go get something to eat after we're done here?" Like a date?
"Uh, sure." I said before I strutted down the hallway. I, Natalie, was going on a date with Dean O'Brien.

"You weren't expecting anything fancy, right?" Dean asked as he ate his burger. He took me to Francine's diner which was no where near, fancy.
"I was, but I love diner's much better", I said. I took a huge bite of my juicy burger.
"Good. If I was having dinner here with my girlfriend Suzy, she would've had a cow", he commented. I almost choked on my burger.
Did he just say... girlfriend? Ugh, it was too good to be true.
"Oh, who's Suzy?" I asked, trying not to sound disappointed.
"Suzy Trescott. She played Betsy in Betsy in Thunderland", he informed me. I knew exactly who he was talking about. Suzy was this gorgeous actress. Every guy claimed to have a boner every time they see her on tv or a picture of her. Honestly, I don't see what's the big deal about her.
"Where is she?" I took a quick sip of my lemonade.
"She's at the radio station for some interview. She should be on the set tomorrow", Dean said.
"Oh."
"EEP! DEAN O'BRIEN!" yelled a fan. She ran up to him and took a bunch of photos of him with her phone. Her red hair looked way too familiar...
"Megan?" I asked her. She turned to me and gasped.
"Nerdalie? Omg it is you! Brielle is going to freak when she hears that you were having dinner with Dean!"
I smiled. I could just picture the dumb cheerleader, getting angrier than two rednecks fighting over roadkill.
"I have to go! Bye Dean and Nerdalie!" she yelled as she skipped out of the dinner. I looked at Dean who was staring at me.
"What?"
"She called you Nerdalie..."
I shrugged. "So?"
He leaned in closer and his tone dropped. "It doesn't bother you?"
I rolled my eyes. "Of course it does. But you just have to get used to it, Dean."
"I know what you mean. I always see people talk bad about me on social media. It gets me angry."
"Yeah, it's so hard to ignore the hate you get under pictures and stuff, huh? Imagine dealing with all of it in person. Every day. I have no bodyguards to protect me from getting shoved around every one. But, I don't get angry. It's a lifestyle that I just have to deal with."
Dean rubbed his cheek and sighed. "Sorry. I guess, I'm just a-"
"Crybaby?"
Dean laughed. "Yeah, a crybaby."
The rest of the dinner consisted of him asking everything about my experiences in high school. The positives and negatives of being me. I even told him about Sarah. Dean just told me about how he got famous. His dad's boss saw his impression of Jim Carrey and suggested that Dean should audition to be in his brother's movie. Ever since then, Dean loved acting. Dean may have been dick at the beginning, but he was actually pretty cool.
