Premiere Disaster

"I got you a new dress!" mom shrieked. I looked up from my phone only to see a forty year old opening up a shopping bag like she's a kid on Christmas. If only she gave birth to a girlie girl...

"And I'm wearing this dress to..."

"The premier to your father's new movie?" my mom finished. She held up a red gown that was gorgeous. "This is the last time you'll see Bryan and your best friend, Dean."

I laughed. "My best friend. Good one, mom."

"What? What's funny?" she asked in utter confusion.

"Dean and I aren't even talking to each other", I inform her.

She folds the gown and then puts it at the corner of my bed. "Is that why you've haven't gone back to the movie set?"

I nodded. This is a great example of how oblivious my mother is when it comes to my personal life.

"Don't let something stupid come between you two. I eavesdropped on your conversation with him. You two would be a very cute couple. Way cuter than him and that strawberry head girl."

I laughed. "You mean Suzy?"

"Yeah, yeah. Just, make not only the right choice, but a choice that makes you happy."

Mom got up from my bed and made her way out of the room. I looked at the new text I just got from Jeremy.

Jeremy: What color are you wearing?

Me: My mom bought a red dress

Jeremy: I'll wear all black then :)

Me: K

I placed my phone on my oak dresser right next to me. Do I like Jeremy and Dean?

"Hi, this is Becca James from live at the premiere of the hottest movie this year, Stopping Alcholics" said an interviewer. Becca James is a scary interviewer who will question you until she gets the answer she needs out of you. "Here we have the famous, Lester Saxton's daughter. Natalie, are you excited to see the movie?"

I gave Jeremy's hand a little squeeze before answering. "Yeah, I love seeing every movie my dad makes."

A short but sweet answer. One point for Natalie, zero for Becca.

"Who's your plus one tonight?"Becca asked with a wink.

"My boyfriend, Jeremy",I said. Becca squinted and a second later, excitement took over her face.

She pointed at Jeremy. "You're Jeremy King! You used to play in Baby Smarties! I used to watch your movie all the time!"

I turned to Jeremy who had a smirk on his face. I was very confused at this point because Becca James knows more about my own boyfriend than I do.

"Yes, Becca, I'm Jeremy King", he said. I let go of his hand and storm off to the end of the red carpet.

I look to see if Jeremy followed me but, he didn't. Instead he was still talking to Becca.He's probably giving Becca the story of the lifetime: Child star returns to the public eye.

I really wish my life was normal.

"Over here, Dean!" a pap yelled. My eyes snapped to Dean O'Brien in a tan colored tuxedo, posing with Suzy. Suzy was wearing a black jacket and black slacks but no shirt. What kind of outfit is that?

Anyways, instead of torturing myself any longer, I decided to call a cab to pick me up. I walked away from the premiere and to the front of a coffee shop. As I walked down the sidewalk, I felt like someone was following me. I didn't want to make it obvious that I know they were following me, so I started humming. I am so weird.
