It's been a whole week since Jeremy and I have been together. It feels like forever but a week isn't very long. I wish he attended my school but his mom sent him to a private school. She says that public schools are full of poor hooligans. I'm not poor nor a hooligan so her argument is definitely invalid.
I strolled down the hallway, not paying anyone any mind until I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turn around and a ton of emotions hit me like a brick. Brielle folds her arms before she shifts her weight.
I take a step closer to her. "Oh my God, what happened?"
"Does it matter? Geez. God. Why did I even come to you? Ugh. Whatever, just... don't get emotional on me."
I stared at her with confusion. "What?"
"Nothing. Nevermind. I don't even know why I came to you. Just fuck off."
I grabbed her shoulder. "No, Brielle. Just tell me what happened to your eye. It looks like someone punched the living shit out of you..."
Brielle covered my mouth. "Would keep it down. Fine, I'll tell you."
Brielle took her hand off my lips and fixed her shirt.
"My dad punched me when he found out that I didn't take the trash out."
My jaw hit the ground. I didn't know what to say or what to do to comfort her. But then again, she's not crying. But then again she's probably putting up a front that it doesn't bother her.
"I-I feel so bad..."
"Don't be. I just need a place to stay, if that's okay with your folks."
I nodded. "Definitely. But we have to tell a teacher or someone so they won't think we're kidnapping you."
Brielle shifted her eyes before answering. "Okay."
I escorted Brielle to my homeroom teacher who immediately reported the incident to the police. I was surprised yet happy to see that Brielle trusted me. She allowed me into her life even though we were sort of enemies. Maybe this is the start of a new friendship.

Jeremy draped his leather jacket over my shoulders once he saw me shiver. Don't ask me why we were in the park in 30 degree weather, but we were. I guess it didnt matter because we were together.
He rubbed his hands together and dozed off like he was in another world. I felt really bad about having his jacket because his cheeks were pink.
"I can't take this", I said as I lifted his jacket off of me.
Jeremy raised his hands so I couldn't give it to him. "I don't want it back until you're inside of your house, babe."
I pouted. "But I feel guilty seeing you cold"."
Jeremy pinched my cheek and chuckled. "You're such a goody two shoes, it's adorable. And your cheeks are extra soft. What do you use to wash your face? Holy water?"
"Dove soap", I laughed. Jeremy smiled but never took his eyes off of me. It's like he's thinking about something. "What?"
Jeremy shook his head. "I've never liked someone so much in my life. You're everything I've ever wanted in a girl. You're perfect, Nat."
I sat on the tabletop of the picnic table, speechless. Jeremy just opened up to me and I can't even move my lips. What should I say? I don't even know if I feel the same way...

"You don't have to say anything", Jeremy confirmed. He focused his eyes toward the tennis court in front of us. "Maybe I'm not your meant to be, but that's okay."
I snapped out of shock and decided to throw my body ontop of him so he was stretched across the table. We laughed before staring into each other's eyes. I leaned in closer and Jeremy held his breath.
I take his breath away.
I crashed my lips into his. If our kiss were a car crash, it would be a huge bloody one. Even though it was freezing outside, I felt warm inside. A warmth I've never felt in my life. It's like, all the pieces to a puzzle I call my life, are coming together. Piece by piece.
I pulled away from his lips. "You're more than perfect for me."
Jeremy smiled and my stomach tingled. The wind picked up, which gave me an excuse to cuddle into his arms.
"You're so warm", I commented. My nose was about to chip off but I rubbed it a bit on his jacket to keep it warm. I'm most likely going to get a really bad cold in the morning. Oh well.
"We should've done this tonight", Jeremy said.
"It's gonna be below zero tonight! You're crazy."
"You over exaggerate, Nat. I bet it's gonna be around 50."
I rolled my eyes at his unrealistic prediction for weather, two weeks before December in New York.
I wish I had a scarf.
I wish I had a blanket.
I wish I had a sandwhich.
Jeremy laced his fingers with mine. "You know what sounds good right now?"
"Hot chocolate?" I asked with a smirk.
"Yup. From the Dunkin' Donuts right across the street."
I jumped up from the table (almost broke my ankle in the process) and ran with Jeremy across the street. We may or may not have barely dodged a speeding taxi...
Anyways, the warmth from inside hit me like a ton of bricks. Dignity was the only thing holding me back from sleeping on the floor. Forunate for us, no one was in line so we immediately gave our order.
"Two large hot chocolates, please", Jeremy ordered. It felt strange having someone order for me. It was a good strange though.
I pulled out a twenty which Jeremy declined. "I got it, babe."
He gave the cashier his credit card and she swiped it.
"Your card is declined", she informed him in an accent. Jeremy's cheeks grew red.
"It's okay. Just take the twenty", I said, handing him the money. He accepted it this time and paid.
Jeremy leaned towards me. "That was so embarrassing. I don't see how my card is declined?"
I shook my head. "I don't know either. Do you pay your bills on time?"
Jeremy hesitated. "Um... Maybe?"
"Really?" I tsked. "I'll help you with your financial issue, I guess."
Jeremy grabbed me by my waist and pulled me closer to him. "Ooh, my girlfriend is smarter and cuter than I am."
I laughed as he kissed my neck. "You got that right."
"Ehem." Both of our heads snapped to the employee with our drinks in her hand. We grabbed them off the counter and giggled.
"Thank you", we said in unison. She shook her head and laughed. How cute are we?
