A New Friendship?

Two glorious weeks have gone by and I haven't seen Suzy nor Dean. I asked Rachel if Suzy gained her memory back; she didn't. I heard that she's still not convinced that Dean is her boyfriend. Karma is a bitch, huh? I spent these two weeks with Jeremy. Jeremy is every thing a girl looks for in a guy. He has manners but can be inappropriate. He's funny but caring. He's insanely cute with a sexy smile. I can be me around him and flirt like crazy because he's single.

Who's Dean?

Who's Peter?

I don't know because all I see is Jeremy.

Jeremy.

His name makes the butterflies in my stomach flutter like crazy. Makes the hairs on my arms stand straight up like a boner.

Toss myself on my bed and check my phone. I get a text from who else but Jeremy.

Jeremy: Hey Nat. Whatcha doin today?

Me: Idk, maybe eat a tub of ice cream while watching The Princess Diaries.

Jeremy: Are you on your period?

I couldn't help but laugh.

Me: Omg. No! Lol I wouldnt tell u if I was anyways...

Jeremy: Lol May I join you?

Me: Yes you may, come over in 20?

Jeremy: See u then, Nat :)

I shrieked and hopped off my messy bed. I did a little dance before sprinting to the kitchen. Paulo, of course, was preparing dinner even though my dad gave him a day off.

"What were you shrieking about?" he asked as he placed a salmon on a frying pan. I skipped to the stainless steel refrigerator.

"Jeremy is coming over", I said. The cool air from the freezer hit me as I pull out a tub of chocolate and mint chocolate chip ice cream.

"Is he your boyfriend yet?"

I walk to the utensil drawer and take out two large spoons. "No, I think we're taking things slow."

Paulo placed the perfectly cooked salmon on a white plate with mashed potatoes and asparagus on the side. My stomach growled as I watched him pour Italian dressing on the salmon.

"I'll prepare an extra plate for your boyfriend", Paulo said as he looked up from the plate and flashed his dashing smile. I rolled my eyes and walked out of the kitchen to the living room. I sat our ice cream on the coffee table with the big spoons on the tubs. I fluffed my hair before I braided it into a fishtail.

The doorbell rang unexpectedly because it's only been nine minutes since I told Jeremy to meet me at my house. I slid in my socks to the door and opened it.

I crossed my arms. "Looking for my dad?"

Dean cleared his throat. "Yeah. Is he here?"

"No." I slammed the door in his face. I took a few steps to the couch before the bell rang again.

I opened it and copied my stance before. "What?"

Dean took a step closer so he was in the doorway. "It's really urgent. Can I come in?"

I backed away. "As long as you stay as far away as possible from me."

Dean nodded and I stepped out of the way. I closed the door behind him once he sat on the arm chair near the door.

I took a seat on the couch and turned on the tv. I got back up to put the DVD in.

"What movie are you watching?" said a voice that is supposed to be quiet.

I sighed. Might as well be nice. "The Princess Diaries."

"I've never watched it."

I turned around and threw the DVD case at him. "You are lying to me. The Princess Diaries is the best movie ever!"

Dean chuckled. "You're telling a movie star, that?"

I rolled my eyes. "Oh, please. Until you do a movie that everyone can relate to, don't get your little head gassed up."

"You relate to the movie?" he asked in a soft tone.

"Yeah. She's this nerd that gets picked on at school but, she finds out she's a princess. She changes her look and then everyone likes her. She finds out that she has to do whatever makes her happy."

"Do you ever want to change your look?"

"Yeah. Brielle reminds me every time I walk down the hallway at school that I'm just an ugly nerd."

Dean stood up. "You are way more than that, Natalie. You know it."

"How would you know?" I asked as I shook my head. "I'm not even your type."

Dean tensed up and stared at me. We stayed like this for a minute before there was a knock on the door. I cheered up before sprinting to open the door.

"These are for-"

I threw my arms on Jeremy's neck before he could finish his sentence. Finally, the guy who makes me want to do backflips is here. I let go of Jeremy and gladly accepted the large bag of Snicker's bars.

"Come on in", I said, grabbing his soft hands. I excitedly guided Jeremy in the house to the couch. "The movie is in and the ice cream is right here. Chocolate ice cream, your favorite."

"It is", Josh said before leaning in close. So close, I could feel his minty breathe on my nose. "Who's that?"

I snapped out of my daze. "Oh, that's just Dean."

"Oh. I'm Jeremy."

"Nice to meet you."

"Same."

"Oh yeah. Paulo made us salmon", I informed him. I turned my head to the kitchen. "Paulo! We're ready for the food!"

"Okay, spoiled brat!"

Jeremy and I laughed as we opened our ice cream. I glanced over at Dean who was staring at the tv screen. "You want a scoop, Dean?"

Dean locked eyes with mine and shock his head. I shrugged before pressing play. I sat myself closer to Jeremy who wrapped his arm around my shoulder. His cologne was intoxicating. I'm never washing this white Vneck, ever again.
