Jake drove me home without saying a word to me. Or maybe he did but I couldn't hear him because I was still in shock. I mean, my best friend since forever is pregnant and didn't even tell me! Since when do we keep big secrets like these from each other? But who's the father? Is it me? Wait, what? I've gone nuts!
"Natalie! Jesus Christ. Are you going to be fine walking up to your house by yourself?" Jake asked.
I looked up at my house and saw all of the lights off except for my parent's bedroom, they were dimmed. Ew, they're probably doing the nasty. I fixed my attention to Jake. "Can we take a walk? I'm in need of some fresh air."
Jake nodded and exited the car. He walked over to my side of the car and opened the door. I tried to get out of the car like I was a million bucks but my heel got caught inside the crack of the sidewalk. Can this night get any worst?
"Your heel got stuck, didn't it?" Jake chuckled. I tried to pull my leg but it wouldn't budge.
I sighed. "Yeah, it is."
Jake went behind me, grabbed my thigh with both of his hands and pulled my leg really hard. I yelped because his grip was really hard. After about three tugs, my heel decided to come out of the damn crack. This is why I don't wear heels.
"Thanks. This is why I prefer sneakers", I said watching Jake locking up the car.
Jake laughed. "You're really funny. It's weird that you don't have a boyfriend."
I shrugged. Maybe it's because I'm ugly. Or maybe no guy likes a girl who is smarter than them.
We strolled all the way to the park across the street that I used to play in before high school. Memories flowed through my mind of how everyone used to take my glasses so they could see me cry. I was such I wimp back then.
"Let's go on the swings", Jake suggested. "Last one there is a shithead."
Jake jetted one way and I ran the other. Let me tell you how hard it is to run in heels: It is fucking impossible.
Once I got to the swing set that only had two swings, Jake was already swinging, laughing at me. I got behind him and pushed him off his swing.
I leaned next to him. "Who's the shithead now? Boom!"
Jake got up and brushed the dirt off of his blue dressy pants. "Still you."
I laughed and hopped on the swing next to the one Jake was swinging on. "Don't you dare push me off."
Jake smirked. "No promises, princess." Princess?
"Sorry, if anything, I'm an embassador. They have way more power than a princess", I said, swinging.
Jake sat back on his swing. "So, embassador, why were you freaking out back at the cafè?"
I hesitated. Should I tell him. I mean, I'm just assuming she's pregnant. She might not be. But Jake could give me great advice. "My friend Sarah might be pregnant."
Jake stopped swinging. "Oh. She told you she was?"
"No. I know my best friend. She kept rubbing her belly and she doesn't do that unless she's pregnant."
"Was she ever pregnant before?"
Uh oh. I said too much. What the hell, I mean, I already started, might as well finish... "Yeah. Last year she went to a party and had sex. She told me she took a pregnancy test the next month and I noticed that she would rub her belly a LOT. Anyways, her mom made her get an abortion."
Jake's eyes widened. "What do you mean by her mom made her get an abortion?"
"Her mom told her to get an abortion or leave", I said.
"Whoa. I wonder if she's going to have an abortion this time." I stopped swinging. He's right. What is she going to do? A second abortion?
"Well, if she wants to because she wants to, then yeah. But, if Sarah's mom makes her choose living in a house over her child, then I'll take her in. We do have a guest room she could live in with her baby."
"You know", Jake got up from his swing and stood in front of me. "For a rich girl, you're really down to Earth."
Compliment or naw? "Thank you?"
Jake chuckled. "It's nice to know that not every young adult isn't selfish. Good things are heading your way, Natalie. Remember that I was the first person to tell you that."
I smiled. "Too bad you have to go back to San Diego."
"Oh yeah. I forgot that I leave tomorrow. Do you mind coming with me?"
I shook my head. "I don't mind at all. Paulo can take us to the airport."
"Who's Paulo?"
"My favorite chef in the whole wide world. He's also my second dad."
Jake laughed his cute little laugh. "Sure. We should probably go. It's kind of late."
I nodded and got up from my swing. My butt went numb but I didn't care. I was walking with the most sweetest guy on Earth. Everything about Jake was perfect. His eyes were the best part about him. Well, physically because he has the kindest heart ever. I just wish he didn't have to go back to San Diego. We would've made a cute couple, right?

"So, this is it?" Jake asked as we stood in the middle of the airport. I could hardly sleep last night so I know I looked terrible but I had to say goodbye. Goodbye to the guy I sorta liked.
I sighed. "Yeah. I'm really going to miss you."
"I'm really going to miss your clumsy self", Jake joked. We laughed and then there was silence.
Flight 92 to San Diego will be boarding in twenty minutes.
"I guess that's you", I said in a shaky voice. Jake smiled an infectious smile. A smile that I will really miss.
"I'll definitely come back for thanksgiving", he promised. Oh great, two months of waiting anxiously.
I nodded. "So, this is a see you later?"
"Yeah." Jake picked up his carry on bag. "See you later."
Jake gave me a little peck on the cheek. Until Thanksgiving, I will never wash my cheek ever again.
I watched as Jake walked off to his plane. I let out a huge sigh and for some odd reason, I felt someone staring at me. I turned around and saw an elderly couple chuckling. The old lady with a floral scarf wrapped around her neck, pointed at me. I cocked my head to the side and walked over to the couple.
"Are you guys laughing at me?" I asked, folding my arms.
They looked at each other and then up to me. "I did the same thing as you. Said goodbye to my boyfriend as he left to go back to Los Angeles. His dad is Terry Collins, the guy who plays on Friday Night Live." The lady chuckled again.
"So, you two are married now?"
"Heavens no. He married some director's daughter. Our relationship didn't workout. I married his stepbrother."
Her husband winked at me and laughed. I chuckled to myself and rubbed my arm. Does that mean Jake and I can't work out?
I looked to see if Jake was out of sight but I saw him. He was talking with this spunky blonde. They were both giggling away. I shook my head and walked to the car, with my head down. Jake and I weren't even dating and I felt terribly jealous when he was talking to that girl. It's whatever though. There's plenty of fish in the sea.

A/N
Sorry if this chapter is short.
FEEDBACK is always nice.
I would really like to see comments before I update. It gives me an idea of what I should write.
I couldn't find a pic of Liam and Jennifer at the airport without Josh but, yeah.
That's Jake and Natalie.
