Claire's POV

"Wake up! C'mon, Ana's furious for not finding you."

"Don't want to" I complained, shoving myself deeper into Tim's arms.

"Please, we're over this. The night comes soon enough. Stand up" he insisted.

Murmuring I pushed my body out of the bed. I already heard Ana's angry voice shouting and pleading at the same time.

I tapped out of the door and saw people running around doing their normal business and other people obviously searching for something. And that at the dumbest places: behind cabins, in boilers and under beds.

"What you looking for?" My voice was raspy and I tried to cough to clear it.

Ana turned around and nearly feel to the ground but I catched her.

"We're looking for you. Where the hell were you?! Why didn't you tell us or me?!"

"At Tim's. I didn't know I have to sign off before I go anywhere like a little kid."

She gave me the rest.
First she didn't care that I couldn't catch up to her while walking and now she is overprotective.

She left me alone when I needed her and now when I found somebody else she comes back and claims me as her own.

Not with me, girl.

"You have to. I was worried sick and I don't like it."

"I fucking don't care. What problem do you have with him? He's nice to me and he was there for me when nobody else was in sight. As you all said, I'm different. I'm not longer part of your group. And also I'm not part of this group. I'm an outcast and nobody can change that."

"Claire..."

I already regret my outburst. It hurts so much to see her suffering like that. Tears were falling down her cheeks and her lips were slightly parted in shock.

I turned around and walked away slowly.

Say anything. I don't care what. If you say something, I'll stop walking. I'll come back to you. Please....

"...I missed you" Ana whispered. "We can't sing without you."

I stand still and without looking at her: "You can't sing?"

"Or dance. It seems like all rhythms just fade away. We need you. Please come back..." The last part she whispered in an even more low voice.

"Claire?" She touched my back following the curves of my spine. Slowly I looked her in the eyes. She pulled her arms around me, burring her head in the crook of my neck.

"Fine."

She held me tighter but I pushed away and let her lead to Greta's house.

She managed to let white roses grow and also bought seeds for vegetables. It smelled like good cooking and something sweet, sugarlike.

"Claire, sweetheart, how are you? I hope better." Greta hugged me tight and long.
"Sit down" she continued "You will get something to eat and this afternoon we will get guests from the other village."

I layed on my bed, silent and without moving. The door opened and Daphne and Lennart ran in.

"Oh... Claire you're back." Daphne seemed slightly shocked.

I stood up again, looking her dead in the eyes and walked out of the room.

They didn't want me here.
