Loves, Lean*****
Claire's POVThe water nymphs played with her hair around me while I listened to their tales.
My favourite, I could promise I begged for it around ten times, was about a dragon, named Agorn.
Agorn was strong and everybody feared him. His breath was fire and his claws death. Where he arrived he spread torture and blood. There was no one who could defeat him. He always won. And he knew, this wouldn't change. He counted six hundred years and no weapon pierced his dranduffs ever.
But like every living creatures, Agorn had a weakness. The only obstacle was that this weakness ment his death.
The diamonds of flowing water, made by the nymphs of the south. Dark blue colour and moving inside like flowing water.
He craved them and if he'd ever come near them he'd die.
Agorn knew where to find them but still he tried to resist. He burned many villages just to burst in endless agony. He didn't know why he wanted them so bad but he did and so there was no hiding. No other diamond or saphire or any other stone was able to make him starve so much for it.
One day it was enough. He flew over the forests and mountains over to the southern lands. He felt the water stones. He felt their screaming and he followed it.
But when he landed and reached his beloved stones he died. The fire started to burn off and his heart made one last beat.
He died with his love in his claws and knew it was worth it.
I stayed with the nymphs of the west. Friendly creatures, a little shy but good hosts.
They made braids and put flowers in it. In the evenings many of them went bathing in the lakes around us and I started to show them how to sing and paint. Apparently they never heard about it but now, they were able to let every singers heart burst in envy. Not including mine.
My heart was probably gone because I felt nothing. I didn't miss anything but I wasn't fine.
"Claire? Your friend looks for you."
It was a gentle morning. The sun was shining through the leafs, waking the birds up who started singing. Normally they'd wake me. Not today.
Friends? I don't remember to have any friends. The memories of the life before I came here started to bleach out. Many aspects were gone but I still remember some walks and persons I don't know anymore.
This was the negative side. The longer you stay with these beautiful creatures, with long, shiny hair and their colourful bodies, the more memories you loose until you're one of them.
In the beginning I hesitated to let go but now it was a welcome relief.
"A friend?"
"Yes. Don't you wanna say hello? She looks a little done."
I nodded.I remembered Ana when she stood in front of me. Her hair was messed up and she was very slim. Under her eyes were dark marks resulting from endless nights. Why?
"What happened?" I forgot about my anger and hate. I forgot about our arguing and arguments, about Daphne and Lennart, about everything. She was here in front of me and she didn't seem fine. That was all that counted.
