What if you slept
And what if
In your sleep
You dreamed
And what if
In your dream
You went to heaven
And there plucked a strange and beautiful flower
And what if
When you awoke
You had that flower in your hand
Ah, what then?

Claire's POV

It was past midnight. The stars were sparkling above me and the wind played over my uncovered body. It was warm and the gras was comfortable.

My thoughts trailed off to unknown destinations.
It was peaceful and quiet.

"Claire?"
Careful I turned my head to the left direction and I saw Ana, as unprotected as I was.

"Claire?" She asked again as I turned my head back to the stars immediately but smiling.

"You know me, it's fine" she soothed me.

I got up and offered my hand to help her. Pushing herself up she interlocked our hands and signed me to take the lead.

We walked to a little lake. Laughing she pushed me and jumped in too.

Like we did on the former planet just a day after we met we started splashing water and laughing.

The trust and comfortableness of our friendship was more than nice. I'd never reach this kind of relationship with Daphne or Lennart.

"Come here" Ana whispered. Slowly I walked over the slippery stones on the ground.

When I reached her, Ana placed her hands on my thighs so I wouldn't fall into the water. Her hands were incredibly soft on my naked skin. She was now even more taller than me because she stood a few centimetres higher.

"Claire, I just wanted to tell-"

She broke up and stared into the near forest. I saw the schemes too. They came nearer.

Quietly I pulled us out of the water and we hid behind a high tree, observing the other side of the lake.

The creatures reached the opposite shore.

"Light up a fire" one shouted.
"Search for food" one demanded.
"Look for soft plants to sleep on" another questioned.

So everything happened.
As the fire lightened their bodies I gasped.

They looked like us.

There were men and women. Some smaller and some taller. Also some really tiny and carried by bigger ones.

I stepped back. I still looked at the creatures. Just once my eyes trailed of to Ana and how water droplets rained from her brown hair down on her perfect skin.

"You okay?" She asked with a smile as she caught me staring a little.

"Yes...yes, of course. Maybe we should go and talk a bit. We could eat with 'em" I tried to suggest, somehow embarrassed and blushing deeply.

Her smile went brighter.
It made her even more beautiful.

She brushed over my fingertips and pushed ours lightly together.

She guided me through the trees to the other side and then out of the woods.

All eyes were darting at us.
No one spoke or moved.
They looked at our naked bodies and our hands, maybe trying to understand.

"May we sit down?"

For a few seconds I thought they'd chase us away but out of sudden the circled us. Throwing blankets over our bare shoulders, dragging us towards the fire and started feeding us with some food they collected.
