Claire's POV

My feet touched the wet gras and I let go of the window frame. The wind messed with my hair, while I shivered slightly.

I stepped forward and walked a while along the water until I reached a nice view over to the city.

The lights were glimmering in their petroleum lanterns, like stars down on earth. There were just a few lights in some houses but the most were off.

You could already see a slim line of warm orange morning sunlight at the far horizon. It wasn't long till sunrise.

Sunrise, my favourite time of day. It was still and peaceful. The colours were warm and hopeful for the new day. The inspiration came from alone and was connected with the best ideas.

I wish I could share this moment with someone.

Carefully I sat down on the edge of the island and watched the sun making its way higher and higher, as it got a little warmer.

My heart longed for a friend, but I knew, there wasn't the time for something like this. My last friends died and betrayed me. I wasn't safe and steady enough for binding myself to other people. Or better, I wasn't worth it.

Art had to be alone and just watching the others looking at its ideas and creations.

I'm art. I'm colour and words. I'm flying and diving. I'm rhythm and poetry, I repeated.

My time will come.

When the morning fully arrived, I decided to go back and prepare for the city. Maybe I should start wearing shoes, like at all.

I smiled halfway.

Miel demanded to guide me to the city after I ate and wanted to go.

"It's dangerous alone, when you go the first time" she argued and finally I gave in.

I liked her, so I should spend some time with her as long as I could.

All in all, it was a crowed and comfortable town. The houses were colourful and flowers hung out of the windows. Horses and animals I couldn't name transported the goods for the people.

It was loud and many people stand outside of the shops, selling everything, from flowers over food to strange objects with jewelry and lenses.

I was absolutely existed. There was so much I wanted to see. I was running from one shop to the next, dragging Miel behind me.

"Was there anything specific you wanted?" She questioned but I didn't listen. I was to busy with looking and freaking over everything.

"Look at these colours! Do you think they are expensive? Oh.. wait. I don't have money...." I pouted shortly, but I went on rushing over to the next man, who was standing in front of a shop for hair cuts.

I wanted to, I reminded myself. I grabbed my long hair and felt it's softness running through my fingers. I nodded to give myself some strength. Then I smiled back at Miel and together we went into the shop.

Thirty minutes later I looked up into the mirror in front of me for the first time.

My hair was short. The hair stylist was busy with applying some gel into my hair, so that it wouldn't fall into my eyes.

I changed a lot through the new hair cut but I was very satisfied with it. I felt more like myself now. Not like the girl, trapped in the castle.

Miel and I walked a little around the city but after lunch we went back to the temple.
