You're A Loser

You couldn't believe it, you had texted with Peter till 3 in the morning, that's almost four hours of texting! You were beyond happy at this point. Sure, he thought you were probably someone else but you didn't care in the moment. You had finally began 'talking' with your long time crush, you weren't going to do anything that would jeopardize that.

With a smile on your face all throughout band practice, you held the violin in the crook of your neck, playing along effortless with the others. Zack however became distracted with your phone that was in front of your music book.

"Y/N" You kept smiling, slowly becoming off tune.

''Y/N, pay attention!'' He whispered harshly to you which caught your attention. You momentarily stopped playing but continued to smile nonetheless.

''You wouldn't believe it'' You began.

''I met this guys well.... not met-met, we just texted'' You tried to explain yourself as you felt your cheeks grow warm. Zack momentarily stopped playing his trumped to turn to face you with confusion.

''Oh yeah, roll with that'' Zach responded sarcastically, shrugging his shoulders as if it was no big deal. He began to laugh along with you before returning to his instrument before the teacher noticed he wasn't playing.

''Never mind he could be a serial killer, or a rapist, or a serial rapist killer'' He went on, pretending to blow into his trumpet as he spoke these words without facing you. You rolled your eyes at his comment and sighed, knowing you'll probably spill you guts on who it is soon enough anyway.

''It's Peter'' Instantly you had regretted mentioning his name.

''Peter!?'' Zack shouted this loud enough in shock for the whole classroom to hear. Everyone had stopped and turned to face the two of you with distaste, including the teacher.

''Is there something you would like to share Zack?'' He had asked, eyeing Zack as he squirmed uncomfortably in his seat.

''No sir'' He piped back quickly, looking down in shame. As soon as everyone had turned around and began playing again he had turned to face you with an almost angry expression.

''Why the hell are you messaging Peter? How are you messaging Peter? Why is he talking to you?'' His questions were out so fast you could barely comprehend each and every one of them. You sadly smiled at the last one though.

''He may or may not think I'm someone else'' Zack just nodded and turned his head to face his work again, pretending to play his trumpet. He seemed to be deep in thought, his eyebrows inching together causing a crease to appear.

''You know there's a word for what you are doing, it's called catfishing and I am pretty sure it's illegal'' You rolled your eyes once more at your bestfriend.

''Law is woefully behind technology, so I don't know if that's true'' You responded with a shrug, smiling in the process. You popped down your instrument and glanced at your teacher ahead, noticing he wasn't paying attention to you guys anymore. You grabbed your phone that was still lit up, showing the messages from the previous night.
