Dine In Date

You were thankful to say the least when the lunch rush was finally over, from between 11 am and 2pm was the cafe's busiest times. Your feet were absolutely killing you, greeting guests with your warm smile as you took their orders back and forth, literally jogging from table to table seeing as you guys were under staffed as well. You were greatful you were getting paid over time for this.

You were absolutely in love with your job, you loved serving and greeting the customers, smiling at new people and helping to create their beverages. You have wanted a cafe of your own when you grew up, one just like this, small and beautiful.

"H-h-i" You heard a familiar voice speak from in front of the counter. You rinsed the cloth you were previously using to wipe the counter down and smiled shyly at the brown eyed boy in front of you. You could feel your cheeks begin to warm slightly, the warming feeling travelling through your body.

Gosh this boys smile was so darn beautiful.

"Same as always?" You asked, your voice slightly dropping a little due to your shyness. You glanced away and blushed once he gave you his dashing smile once again, warming up your insides.

"Yeah please, to have here" Usually he takes it to go but lately he's been eating in which you have secretly loved. You always had made sure you were the one who served him, even if he wasn;t in your section. The other girl had eventually caught on and let you take his order, even requesting he'd move over to the table on the right so he'd be in our section.

"No worries" You spoke up, beginning to prep his order. You were still learning how to make the drinks so the manager stood by you, watching you closely as you prepared his order with a nervous smile. He had walked awy and sat at his now usual spot, the right table near the wall in your section.

You could notice your hands were shaking a little. You mentally scolded yourself for this, telling yourself he was just some boy. You served heaps of boys every day yet this one seemed different. He had caught your eye without even trying. Maybe it was the nerdy shirts who were in every day, making you smile and sometimes laugh when they held a pun. But mainly you felt your heart flutter every time he smiled at you, as if that smile was just meant for you.

He was so innocent and sweet, so differently from all the other guys.

"Are you okay?" Your manager had asked curiously. You hadn't even realised you were zoning out. You quickly finished with Peter's coffee and cake before popping them onto a carry out tray. You sent a small smile towards your manager before picking up the tray, leaving behind the counter and walked over towards Peter.

You could feel yourself beginning to grow warm the closer you got, noticing the way he quickly picked up on of his text books to hide behind. You could tell because he did this almost every time, you could sense his gaze and each time you glanced up, he had quickly adverted his gaze and went back to his book, lightly nipping at his bottom lip.

You blushed once more.

As soon as you had approached him he pretended to not notice, quickly pop his book down to send you another warm smile which melt your heart.

"One mocha coffee with a blueberry cheese cake?" You had spoken up, placing the tray down onto the table before gently placing his coffee and cake beside him. He smiled again, his dimples showing this time. He watched as you placed them down, almost as if he was admiring this action.

"Anything else?" You asked nervously once you realised just how close you had leaned down towards him. You glanced up and gulped. You could feel your insides churning, the warmth growing even more.

"U-u-mmm" He stuttered, finding his gaze drift between your eyes and your lips. He cleared his throat and shook his head, snapping himself out of his thoughts as his skin begin to grow warm at the close proximity of the two of you.

"Sorry" You apologised shyly, taking a step back away from him. You picked up the tray in your arms and turned around to walk away, mentally cursing yourself for embarrassing yourself.

"W-w-ait!" You could hear him call out a little too loudly. Other customers had glanced over too look at the both of you with scrutinizing eyes. You stopped in your tracks and slowly spun back around.

"Hmm?" You found yourself mumbling under your breath, just loud enough for him to hear you without having to use his spidey senses.

"Uhhh... nothing" He spoke quickly, now glancing back down at the table. You frowned to yourself, your stomach dropping. What was he going to ask you? Or tell you?

Now you really wanted to know, but you were too afraid to confront him. So instead you smiled sadly towards Peter one last time before walking back over towards the counter. You popped the tray away and continued to wipe down the bench, one of the following waitresses sending you a knowing look. You blushed and kept your head down, feeling sad at your encounter with your crush.

It had been about 20 minutes before Peter got up and left his table, walking over to the counter to pay for his drink and cake. You could have sworn it was the slowest 20 minutes of your entire life.

The waitress at the counter had smiled towards Peter before walking away, leaving him puzzled. She had walked over to you and whispered in your ear.

"You're up" She says with a smirk, taking the cup from your hands to pop it away. You sighed and turned around to face the front, seeing him waiting patiently by the counter. You smiled to yourself in encouragement and took slow steps towards him, standing at the cash register.

"Hey, did you enjoy your coffee?" Did you enjoy your coffee? Seriously?

"Y-yeah I did thank you, it was lovely as always" He spoke with a smile, grabbing out his wallet. He slipped out a ten dollar bill and placed it on the counter for you. You glanced at the money with a frown.

"It was only $5.60..."

"Keep the change" You swear if he sent another smile your way you were going to faint. There was only so much you could take.

"O-okay" It was your turn to stutter out, accepting the bill before typing into the cash register. You watched him turned away and began to leave, coming to a stop after his first step.

"Uhhh" He turned back around with a confused expression, walking back to the counter. You had looked up to him and smiled, not realising how warm your insides were growing once again.

"Umm would you... maybe..." He blushed and glanced down, finding it hard to speak the words. You watched in curiosity, wanting to know what he was going to say.

"Uhh.." He glanced up and froze, watching the way you sent your beautiful smile towards him. He felt his breathing hitch inside his throat. He gulped nervously and felt his heart begin to race.

He was beyond nervous.

"...shit" he cursed himself in a soft voice, not expecting you to hear it. You rested your elbows against the counter and leaned forward, smiling to yourself. You felt this new found of confidence hit you like a wave.

"Peter?" He had glanced up at the mention of his name from your lips. You bit your lip and you watch his eyes watch this motion, his own breath hitching once more.

"Meet me up at 7" And without you quickly walked away, feeling the confidence slowly begin to leave you.
