Love Me To Love You
''Ashley-Jane. It'll only gonna take a second. Just smile'' Dad was always like this at the start of every school year. I could understand for our first and last year of school but every year?
''Cheeeeese!'' I wanted to roll my eyes at Kitty but sighed instead, smiling like dad had wanted. He quickly took the photo and reached out to grab the chalk boards from us which said our school year.
''Sixth grade and Junior year (year 11), can hardly believe it'' This time I definitely rolled my eyes.
''Okay, you ready to go?'' I asked Kitty as her smile haltered a little.
''One sec'' She quickly turned around and jog over towards the house.
''Okay, just drive safe. I gotta go'' I waved dad goodbye as he hoped into his car and sped off down the road. I turned around to the sound of my sister racing up towards me wearing a... helmet.
''All set'' She beams, clipping the straps together.
''That's very funny'' I say unamused.
''Very necessary'' I ushered her towards the car with a hard glare.

It felt weird walking down the school hallway without Margot by my side. The school looked the same but it didn't quite feel the same. Bypassing Josh and his locker was probably the hardest part. He looked so heartbroken still given she had left just a little under a month ago. This must be so hard on him. I offered a small wave and he returned it with a soft smile. God that smile-
''Ow! Excuse you''
''Oh my god I-'' My words fell short once I turned around to see who it was I bumped into.
''Oh, it's you'' She flicked her hair away from her shoulders as a scowl crossed her features.
Gen. Genevieve. We used to be best friends, but post-middle school, for reasons having to do with her popularity and my lack therefor, we are now decidedly not.
''Cute boots'' I just smiled softly and glanced down at my shoes. I loved them.
''Thank you so much for your service'' She mocked saluted me as her eyes stared right into mine. It was like she was trying to tear away my soul.
''They're vintage, But I got them on Etsy'' I casually responded before feeling an arm wrap around my shoulder.
''And they're amazing, not everybody can pull them off. Ashley-Jane can rock em! But for you, cuz, well, let's just say it's probably a good thing you're paying it safe with those Uggs''
Christine. Chris. Gen's cousin, my best friend. My only friend, really.
''Know what, Chrissy? Screw you, you know my feet are always cold'' Gen said s harshly but Chris didn't seem to care.
