Secrets

You let out a frustrated groan as you read the question for what felt like the 15th time. You've been stuck on this same question for the past ten minutes and couldn't seem to figure out the answer for the life of you. You decided to move on and skip the question, easily growing tired of the same old question. Peter glanced up from his workbook once he heard your groan, furrowing his eyebrows slightly before continuing on with his studies.

Not 2 minutes later you let out another groan. This time you've peeked Peter's interest and he popped his book down beside him.

"What's wrong?" He asked. You just shook your head, feeling the familiar wetness pool in your eyes. Frustrated, you shook your head and wiped away the tears before they could fall. You and Peter have been study partners for a little over 6 months, meaning you guys had developed a friendship during this time. You always had some difficulty when it came to studying and doing work, your brain seemed to blur things up making it almost impossible for you to concentrate properly.

"Nothing" You replied, not wanting to tell him what was going on. This wasn't the first time this has happened, each time Peter would wonder what's wrong and you would just shut him down.

He was a decent friend that you had grown feelings for and didn't want him to know. Your whole life you've been bullied for your disorder and didn't want it to happen all over again. You hid in high school, making sure no one knew too much about you. But with Peter... he seemed to slip through the cracks ever so slightly making you question everything.

"You say that every time Y/N..." Peter states, growing more concerned for you. You couldn't but to feel a small blush creep along your cheeks at his worry for you. You knew it was only a matter of time before he grew bored of you, everyone did.

You just had hope that he was different.

"It's just... this question seems to get more confusing each time I read it" You spoke out with a laugh. Peter joined and soon moved to sit beside you. You tried to ignore how close his body was to you as he lent slightly forward to look at your book.

His own eyebrows furrowed and he soon frowned. He read the question over himself, getting the answer almost instantly. He looked up to you with a frown. You guys share the same AP classes, he knew you were smart.

"It's Ab squared..." He spoke up softly, watching your face for any sign of expression. You face immediately lifted into a smile. You weren't quite sure how he got that but now you understood. You adjusted the pen in your grip and moved your wrist so you could begin to write. You froze.

Peter noticed and again, glanced at you worriedly. He had picked up on these little things during the 6 months you guys have spent together. He didn't think anything of it at first but after the first month he grew more and more curious and concerned. You only seemed to let your guard down a little around him but not enough for him to see what was really wrong.

You felt utter embarrassment as your hand froze, Peter watching you. You put the pen down with a sigh and threw your head back.

"Y/N..." Peter trails off, wanting to test a theory.
