Conquering Social Standings
You never really had a problem with being an introvert. In fact, you quite enjoyed it. You got to do hat you wanted to do without any hassle and you often passed by unnoticed. But the times where you were forced to complete group projects or to speak in front of a crowd you instantly froze, your brain turning into jelly.
"Hey, nerd alert!" You could the familiar sound of Flash Thompson call out from down the hall. Your eyes instantly widen, scanning the area around you for somewhere to possibly hide, you knew it was too late seeing he has already seen you but you were still going to try. You began to see people around you take notice as well, their eyes immediately falling on you. You could feel the lump rise in your throat, noticing a pair of guys standing by their locker, seeming to have some sort of civil argument.
You quickly rushed to hide your body behind one of them, resting your back against the lockers as a few people gave you a weird stare. Sensing someone was behind him, Peter turned his head to notice you, taking a few deep breaths to calm yourself down.
"Can't hide from me forever Nerd!" Peter could hear Flash call out from down the hall. You instantly moved off the lockers and pressed yourself closer to the boy, taking him completely by surprise. You could feel the boy in front of you begin to move but froze when your hands shot up to grab the back of his shirt gently.
"Please, don't" You whispered out in a scared voice, not liking how there were still a few lingering stares on you. Peter stood still, his eyes reaching up to notice Flash slowly making their way closer and closer followed by his posse. Peter quickly put on a nervous smile, adjusting his body slightly so that your frame was easily covered by his. His friend Ned, also decided to move to you as well, hiding you completely from anyone's sight.
You could hear his approaching footsteps and felt yourself shrink even more.
"Well if it isn't Penis Parker!" You could hear Flash's voice cheer out happily as he stopped walking. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion, who the hell was that?
"You know, I actually wasn't expecting to see you till fifth period, have you seen a short blondie? Say, 5'1 who looks like she's about to cry at any moment?" Flash joked, causing a few students around to laugh. Peter however played it off and shook his head with small smile.
"No, She was headed towards the bathroom" He spoke out smoothly, not letting out a trace of nerves to hint that he was maybe lying. Flash eyed him curiously for a few seconds before smiling, smacking his hand against his cheek lightly while chewing on the piece of gum that was in his mouth.
"Right, see you Penis Parker!" Flash calls out as he begins to walk away, a few more students around beginning to laugh. Peter could feel your body practically against his back, your hands still clinging to his shirt lightly. He tried to ignore the warmth it sent through his body as he spoke up.
"He's gone" He said softly, causing a small smile to appear across your face. You could feel Peter begin to move away from you, your hands immediately tightening around his shirt. He stopped again, catching a few peoples attention.
