All The Stars
You could say from first hand experience that heartbreak never seems to leave you. It's always there, a constant reminder of what you've done wrong, or when everything went wrong. Watching your best friend and the guy you had fallen madly in love with, being so totally in love in front of you honestly sucked. You weren't going to do anything about it, no matter how badly you wanted to. They each deserved happiness and if they found it in each other... so be it. You hadn't known exactly when you had begun to feel depressed. It just sort of... snuck up on you, kind of the way your love for one brown eyed boy did.
You weren't mad about being in love with Peter, you were mad because there was absolutely nothing you could do about it.
So when your English teacher had announced partner work, assigning you with Peter Parker, you could correctly say your world turned on it's axis. You'd be forced to spend even more time with him. You'd watch him with your best friend for the past two months, you don't think you could handle that during your study time as well. Peter had happily spoken to you, making time arrangements to work on the assignment together, your fake smiles and cheery attitude seemed to work wonders with the boy.
As soon as he was happy with the arrangements, he would soon leave, something popping up to cause him to scatter away. He had been doing that more and more often, and not just during your time but Lydia's as well, and if you knew your best friend, you knew she hated being second on the priority list to anyone. Your best friend, seeming to have forgotten about your feelings about her boyfriend, came to you seething, already ready to say that Peter was cheating on her with someone else. He wasn't that type of guy, it was something else, but Lydia was already convinced. You weren't sure if this was a good thing or a bad thing.
That afternoon you had walked to Peter's apartment from school, riding up the elevator till you reached his front door. I lady in her late 30's had opened the front door with a smile, her eyes crinkling at the edges when she saw you.
"You must be Y/N, it's nice to finally meet you" She knew you?
You politely smiled and shook her hand, instead she had pulled you in for a warm hug, immediately easing whatever nerves you had. You could really get use to this woman.
"I'm Peter's Aunt, May" she introduced herself with a hearty smile, leading you inside the apartment. You smile once again and glanced around the room as she closed the door after you. It had a very homey feel to it.
"To be honest, I'm glad you're not the other girl... I'm sorry, where are my manners?" Aunt May had seem to start rambling. Your eyebrows had furrow in confusion, she couldn't be talking about Lydia, could she?
"It's okay, she can be a bit over the top but she often means well" You spoke proudly of your best friend with a genuine smile. She may have stolen the boy from you but she was always there for you when you needed her the most, she had a weird way of showing her affection but you could pick up on her hints.
"Oh gosh, I'm so sorry, I honestly didn't mean anything bad by-" Aunt May had continued on, now you could see where Peter got his cute rambling from.
"It's fine" and with this she offered you a drink, you politely saying yes to a glass of orange juice. She had let you wait for Peter in his room, leaving the door open as she left. You reached for your backpack and went to go sit on the ground, leaning your back against his bed. You were more than happy to begin the assignment seeing as Peter was running late, like he usually is.
