Y/n's POV

"State! State! State!" all of the lacrosse players cheered as they marched off to the locker room to change out of their uniforms. We had just one the lacrosse game, which meant everyone would be getting an A in econ, and we'd be advancing to the state level of competition. I bid goodbye to Lydia before following after the rest of the boys to put on some fresher clothes. The next night, I was lounging around in my room finishing up some homework, and my phone ringing interrupted me.

"Hey, Stiles," I greet my best friend over the phone. "I haven't heard from you all day, but I wanted to let you know that last night your dad was asking about you the whole game, and I had to give one hell of an excuse, so you owe me big time."

"Y/n," Stiles said from the other end of the phone. "Could you come over? We really need to ta-dad! Hey! Stop that!"

"Everything okay, Stiles?" I question.

"Everything's fine," Stiles assured me. "My dad is just a tad bit drunk."

"Okay, well, I'll be there in like 15 minutes," I inform him.

"Great. Thank you," Stiles breathed out. "But there's one more thing I should probably tell you before you get over here so that you've got time to digest it. I figured out who the Alpha is." After Stiles had said that, I rushed to hop on my bike, needing to find out what Stiles knew almost immediately. A ride that should have taken 15 minutes took me only 10, and by the time I arrived at the Stilinski household, I was out of breath. I set my bike down against the side of the house, and once I had caught my breath, I used the key Stiles had given me to get inside. Both Stiles and his dad were both at the dining room table when I entered, and a near empty bottle of whiskey was sitting near them.

"Hey guys," I wave and shove the key back into my pocket.

"Hey," Stiles returned and stood up to give me a hug. It lasted a bit longer then expected, but I didn't mind. Not one bit, actually.

"You two look so cute together," Sheriff Stilinski slurred. "Are you sure you're not a couple?"

I laughed. "I'm positive, Mr. Stilinski. Stiles and I are not dating. We're only friends."

"Well, you two definitely should," Sheriff Stilinski opined. "You're cute together."

"That's enough whiskey for you," Stiles decided and snatched the bottle off of the table. "Come on, dad. I think it's time you go to bed." By the time Stiles had helped his father up the stairs and into bed, I had settled down in the living room, making myself comfortable in the corner seat of the couch.

"So, who's the Alpha?" I push.

"Ah ah ah. First things first. We have to talk about the fact that the lacrosse team made it to state," Stiles declared.

I groaned. "Stiles, that isn't important right now. We have bigger things to worry about than the lacrosse team making it to state."

"I know, but that's important too. I'm sure you were a big contributing factor," Stiles spoke.

"It was actually all Scott and Danny," I claim. "They worked well together today. I, on the other hand, barely made a pass."

"Well, you're still the best player in my eyes," Stiles confessed.

"Okay, but seriously, enough about that. Who is the Alpha? You said you figured it out, so spill," I demand.

"It's Peter Hale," Stiles revealed.

I frowned. "Stiles, Peter Hale is at the Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital Long Care Facility, practically paralyzed with burns covering half his body. He needs a nurse to do everything for him. So how the hell could he have ran off into the woods to bite Scott, attack people all around town, and chase us at the school?"

"I know it sounds crazy," Stiles admitted.

"Insane, actually," I correct.

"All right. Insane. Fine," Stiles muttered. "The point is, it's him. I know, Scott knows, and now you know."

"Wait a minute," I interject. "Why am I the last one to know?"

Stiles shrugged. "I don't know. I was just with Derek, and that's when we figured it out. I don't want to give you all the details. It's a bit boring. Anyways, Derek told Scott, and now I'm telling you."

"Well, thank you," I say and glance down at my phone. I hadn't gotten any messages from Scott or my mom about anything, which was nice. It also meant I didn't have to head home right away for dinner or anything, giving me extra time with Stiles. "Hey. What would you say to a movie night?"

Stiles smiled. "I like the way you think. Lets do it."
