Y/n's POV

"Sheriff Stilinski!" I call out and jog to catch up with the older man. "I heard what happened. Are there really..."

"23 bodies?" Sheriff Stilinski finished for me. "Yeah. Argent found them somewhere in the tunnels. That is exactly why I don't want you kids going down there."

"And Parrish?" I question. "How's he taking all this?"

"Not so good," Sheriff Stilinski responded. "I've got him back at the station going through every missing persons report for the past two weeks."

"Right. Well, thank you for the update," I murmur and go to walk away, only for him to stop me.

"I texted Stiles," Sheriff Stilinski alerted me. "And he said he was heading over with Kira and Scott, but not you. Now, I don't know what is going on between you two, but what I do know is that you guys have been inseparable since you were kids. So whatever is going on, you need to work things out."

"I'm trying, Sheriff," I promise him. "It's Stiles who doesn't want to meet me halfway. And yeah, I get it, I did exactly the opposite of what he wanted me to do. I started dating Theo and joined his new pack of Chimeras. But he can't blame me for doing that. Not after everything that has happened the past few weeks. Not after what happened between me and Scott."

"I'll talk to him," Sheriff Stilinski offered. "Maybe I can get him to let you back in."

"Thanks," I say and smile. Just then, the elevator doors opened up, and Stiles, Scott, and Kira stepped onto the floor. My eyes met Stiles', and he immediately looked away, but I did my best to ignore it. "I have to go find my mom. Thanks again for the update, Sheriff Stilinski."

............................................

"Hey, Lydia," I greet softly and take a seat next to my best friend's bed. "I'm sorry its been so long since I've visited. I've been a little busy with Theo, but mostly trying to find out about this new creature terrorizing Beacon Hills. But um, your teachers gave us some of the stuff you guys have been working on. They wanted us to hold on to it for you. I saw something about the Riemann Hypothesis, things like, nontrivial zeros, zeta functions and a lot of other stuff. I may be smart, but I'm nowhere as smart as you when it comes to math. That goes totally over my head. I think I should just stick to science and history. Perhaps when you can wake up though, you can explain it to me. Come on, Lydia. You have to come back to us. There's no way we're getting through this without you. I can't get through this without you. I think you're probably the only person who can bring the pack back together. So you have to wake up."

"Hi, Y/n. Visiting hours for non-family members are over," Ms. Martin informed me and appeared at the door to Lydia's room.

"Okay. That's fine. I should probably get going anyways," I murmur and stand up, only to notice something weird on Lydia's head. "What's this?"

"Nothing," Ms. Martin replied. "You need to leave now, Y/n."

"It's a bald spot," I reveal as I pushed aside her hair. "What are they doing to her here?"

"It's for E-C-T. Electroconvulsive therapy," Ms. Martin shared. "They shave small portions of the scalp. It's done under general anesthesia and it's perfectly safe. Look at her, Y/n. She's my daughter. You don't think I'm trying everything I can to bring her out of this?"

I shook my head. "That's not E-C-T. Ms. Martin, you have to get her out of here. Please."

"Is everything all right in here?" a guard asked.

"It's fine. Our guest is just leaving. Y/n, go right now, or you're not coming back," Ms. Martin demanded. "I have never had a problem with you, okay? You were a good influence on Lydia back at the beginning of high school. You're smart and charismatic and kind. Anyone would be lucky to have you as a friend. I don't want to push you and Lydia apart, so please, just leave."
