Y/n's POV

"All right, so I found some cool apartments in the Mission District, but they're pretty expensive. A couple in Haight and Ashbury. Also expensive," Stiles commented.

"What about Berkeley? Don't a lot of students live around there?" Scott posed.

"Yeah, yeah. We could try Nob Hill, but, the Jeep would probably burn through a lot of clutches," Stiles mentioned.

Scott raised his eyebrows. "You're bringing the Jeep?"

"You know the plan, okay. No one gets left behind. That's the plan," Stiles stated.

"Scott, don't hate on the Jeep. We've had some memorable times in this thing," I recall and pat the hood of the car.

"Don't forget about the intimate times," Stiles brought up.

"Wait a minute," Scott interjected. "When you two were possessed, you had sex in the back seat, didn't you?"

"Yes we did," I confirm. "We had sex in a lot of places. Man, the more I think about it, the necromancer and nogitsune were basically just teenagers. Always angry, and always horny."

"I don't get it. You guys have kissed, had sex, gone out together.....why don't you just date already?" Scott quizzed.

"You know we decided against that, Scott," I remind him. "It's really complicated, and I don't feel like explaining the whole thing again, so I'll say this. Stiles and I are fine with being good friends. It's honestly better that way. Plus, he's dating Malia now, and I am enjoying living the single life."

"Um, you've got a friends with benefits situation going on with Brett," Scott pointed out. "So I don't think you can call yourself single."

"Actually, Brett and I decided to stop doing that. So I am very, very single," I emphasize.

"Back to apartments," Stiles intervened. "Lydia and Y/n are not gonna have a problem getting into Stanford. Kira's thinking USF. Malia's, uh, gonna, you know, she'll figure something out, okay. The plan's perfect."

"Why don't you guys wait until you actually get into college to figure out where to live?" I suggest.

"I said the same thing," Scott spoke.

"I have a vision, okay? And it is a beautiful vision. Don't ruin the vision," Stiles ordered. "Okay, we can check out the East Bay. And we haven't looked at Oakland yet."

"I've been thinking about something Deaton told me once," Scott interrupted. "You ever hear of regression to the mean? It was his way of saying that life can't ever be all bad or all good. You know, eventually things have to come back to the middle. So, think about the last few months. Things have been good, right? But not amazing."

"Yeah, but no one's tried to kill us in six months either," I note.

"Right. We've been pretty much in the middle for a while. Which means, at some point, the scale has to tip one way or the other. Things are gonna get really good again, or really bad," Scott declared as lightning struck in the distance.

Stiles rubbed his forehead. "Think it's been long enough?"

"Yes!" Liam called out from where he was chained to a tree.

"Hey, we're trying to have an adult conversation over here," Stiles told him.

"All right, you're two years older than me," Liam counted. "And I'm fine. Just let me go."

"It's not that we don't trust you," Scott said.

"It's that I don't trust you," Stiles corrected.

"Yeah. After that last full moon...." I trailed off.
