Y/n's POV

"Y-you don't know a-anything," Stiles stuttered.

"I don't know anything? You told me the whole story! I saw the body!" I exclaim. "What did you do with it anyways?"

"I didn't touch it. It disappeared. Just like all the other ones," Stiles announced as the sound of sirens hit our ears.

"We should get out of here," I urge.

"We can't just leave him," Stiles uttered and looked at the chimera's body.

"Fine," I give in. "Then let's take him. Someone's stealing the bodies anyway, right? Here's our chance to find out who. Come on, Stiles!"

"You killed him," Stiles muttered.

"I know," I confirm, my voice getting quiet. "I didn't want to. I've never wanted to. But it was self-defense. He was gonna kill you, Stiles. And if he had, I wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing that I could have stopped it. This is obviously something neither of us pictured happening, but now its something we have to deal with. So, we've got two choices. We run and take the body with us, or we stay. If we stay, we're either going to have to tell the truth or we're going to need a pretty convincing story. Your choice. I'm not going to ask you to lie to your dad."

"Don't worry. I've had plenty of practice," Stiles assured me and went to grab one end of the dead kid's body.

......................................

"Does anyone know him?" Theo inquired as Stiles and I showed him and Scott the chimera's body at the animal clinic.

"His name's Josh. He was a junior," Scott revealed and turned to Stiles and I. "Which one did it? The one with the cane?"

"Yeah," I lie.

"What are we going to do with him?" Stiles questioned. "We can't just set the alarm and leave. That's how Tracy disappeared. All right, someone's got to stay here with him."

Theo sighed. "Okay. I'll do it. It's not like I had a big Saturday night planned."

"I'll stay too," I offer. "Just in case."

Scott frowned as his phone buzzed. "Oh no. There's another chimera. It's Hayden."

"Hayden? Isn't that the girl Liam has some sort of thing with?" I implore.

"Yeah," Scott replied. "Stiles and I will go deal with this. You two stay here. Make sure no one gets this body."

"So," I start once Scott and Stiles had left. "No plans on a Saturday, huh?"

"Well it's not like you had anything planned either since you offered to stay with me," Theo retorted.

"Um, for your information, I did have plans," I counter.

Theo raised his eyebrows. "Oh yeah? What you were gonna do tonight?"

"My original plan was to start an essay I've got due next week for English, but then I thought maybe you and I could hang out. Go for another late night drive, grab some dinner, maybe make out a little bit," I propose.

"Who says we can't do that right here?" Theo asked and backed me up against the countertop behind me, the cold steel digging into the small of my back.

"In front of a dead body? That's gross, Theo," I comment.

"Then we'll just switch places," Theo said. He grasped my waist, pulled me away from the counter, and then swapped our placed so that he was facing the covered body. I was now pressed right against his chest, and I could hear his heartbeat faintly. "See? All better. And you're a necromancer. Shouldn't you be comfortable with the dead?"
