Y/n's POV

"Dad, really. I'm okay," I assure him as I taped a piece of gauze over the small wound on my side. "Garrett only nicked me when he went after Brett. I'll heal."

"I should've been here. And I said I would be at the games," Rafael muttered.

"This was just a pre-season scrimmage," I point out. "I didn't even tell you about it."

"But I promised your mom I'd be around so she could pick up some double shifts at the hospital. I should've been here," Rafael repeated.

"Dad, you're here now. That's all that matters," I tell him.

"Hey, Sheriff," Rafael greeted as Sheriff Stilinski walked past. "What is that? Is that the weapon?"

"Yeah. It's a thermo-cut wire," Sheriff Stilinski responded.

"Parrish, hold up!" Rafael shouted and chased after Deputy Parrish with Sheriff Stilinski following behind him.

"Hey guys. Where's Kira?" I ask as I met up with Scott and Liam.

"She took off. Stiles told her about Lydia cracking the second part of the Dead Pool. Her mom's on it," Liam shared.

"Everyone's on it," Scott corrected. "Except for you, Liam."

"Not yet. There's still another third," Liam reminded him.

"Okay, well, I just got a text from Stiles. Him and Derek are with Deaton. They're trying to help Brett," I read from my phone.

"You sure you're okay? Garrett still got you," Scott noted.

"Barely. And I was able to heal when I used my necromancer powers. I'm still a little weak, but I'll be okay. Seriously," I insist. "We need to come up with a plan though, and I think I have one. Later tonight, when the school is empty, we can come back here and search Garrett's locker. How's that sound?"

"Sounds like a plan. Lets do it," Liam said.

..............................................

"I think someone's coming. Hurry," Liam hissed from where he stood on watch at the entrance to the locker room.

"Liam, this takes time, okay? If we break the lock, the police will know we've been here, and then we'll get in serious trouble. So just shut up and let me work my magic," I grumble as I moved the bobby pins around the inside of the lock, which clicked like seconds later. "And done."

"I still find it scary that you can do that," Scott confessed and swung open the locker to reveal a red duffel bag. Scott then unzipped it, and inside were hundreds of thousands of dollars of cash. Like, enough to keep somebody financially stable for the rest of their lives.

"You guys find anything?" Liam quizzed.

"No," Scott lied and glanced over at me. "Nothing."

Later the next night, I was sitting in my room, attempting to do homework, but I couldn't concentrate. Stiles had just texted me saying that Deputy Parrish was on the hit list, which was odd because none of us had any indication as to what he was. But I was also thinking about the money. I could hear my mom downstairs arguing with the power company over turning the power back on, and I knew that money would do us a lot of good. Eventually I gave up with homework and walked into Scott's room, and I found my brother sitting on the edge of his bed with the bag of money at his feet.

"Hey," I murmur and lean against the door to his room. "You uh, you hear mom on the phone a minute ago?"

Scott nodded. "Yeah. I only listened for a minute though."
