And I Didn't Notice

Chapter 21 (Kara's POV)

    I rushed to the bathroom beyond my bedroom walls and splashed water on my face. I needed to cool off.

    "Kara? What happened?" Alex asked from behind me. I look up to the mirror and see my sister staring at me. I talked to her through the mirror.

    "Today was too close. She almost found out. Not only that but I had to lie, on the spot!" I took a deep breath and turned towards my sister. "Alex, I am tired of lying. And now she has it in her head that Kara and Supergirl are sleeping together. Katie isn't helping!" I yelled and pointed towards the kitchen. Alex went to respond but I continued to speak. "That isn't all. I had to rush over to the D.E.O. to swap out the clothes Lena saw me in this morning with the spare of clothes I have over there. Oh, I was wearing what you left over a few weekends ago. Anyway! On my way to the D.E.O. people saw me and I am sure some took pictures. What if someone notices!" I shouted and fell ass first on the bathroom floor. Alex kneeled in front of me and rubbed the top of my head.

    "If Lena, a brilliant woman who sees you 'both' every day, didn't recognize you then I am positive no one else will. I know you hate lying but you cannot tell her. If you told her and people found out she knew, they'd come after her. I know people already do but it'd be more so. You care about her?" Alex asked. I simply nod my head 'yes'. "Okay, they don't tell her."

    "You told Maggie I was Supergirl though," I stated. Alex pulled her hand through her hair and sighed.

    "I told her because I plan to marry that dweeb of a cop one day and you are my sister. She'd have to know at some point. The D.E.O. can protect her also. Plus, who would go after Maggie to get to you?" Alex asked with confidence. I shrugged not knowing how to respond. "See. Unless you are falling in love with Lena romantically then I don't see the point in coming out just yet." Her words shocked my body. I do have feelings for Lena though. Alex noticed my inner freak out. "Wait, you are really bothered that Lena thinks you are Supergirl are together. Do you," my sister paused for a moment and stood up, "do you have romantic feelings for Lena?" I snapped my head in her direction and stood up as quickly as humanly possible.

    "I do not. I just, uh, I hate lying." I said in a fluster. Alex placed her hand on my shoulder.

    "You know it is okay to be attracted to Lena. She is a beautiful woman. Don't tell Maggie I said that but it is true. Lena is brilliant and gorgeous, who wouldn't fall for her? Not only that but we all know she'd risk anything to protect you or Supergirl. She chose you over her ex-lover to survive, remember? I get it. I just don't get why you are hiding it. Especially from me." Alex said in a comforting tone. I begin to walk out of my bathroom when Alex stops me by grabbing a hold of my arm. "And look at it this way. On another earth, you guys are a couple and have a kid. If it helps, Lena is very jealous of you and Supergirl. She is totally into you romantically." I could feel my mouth slightly fall open. Was she into me? Alex couldn't help but laugh. As my sister guided me out of the bathroom she whispered something to me. "Maybe come out to her after this whole Scorch mess?" I smiled and nodded my head 'yes'.

    "I'd like that very much. But just the coming out as Supergirl part. Not the whole, 'hey sweet cheeks I dig ya' part." I said with worry. Alex threw her hands in the air and laughed. She was the first to exit the bedroom, then it was me. This is going to be a good breakfast. As I walked out of my bedroom everyone was looking at me. Katie seemed to be feeling guilty for teasing Lena and I. Logan and Lena seemed concerned. Allen and Maggie seemed unfazed. Maggie had her attention on Alex who was sitting down. I took a deep breath and walked over to the food and fixed myself a plate. I took a seat right in front of Lena. Everyone got into their conversations but I stayed silent. I felt a slight nudge on my leg. I looked up and saw Lena looking at me.
