The next day...

"Okay, let's see here," I mumbled to myself as I marked things off of my checklist, "Clothes, check. Stationary, check. Tool box, check. Important books, check. First Aid Kit, check. And Cleverness, check."

"Ah, what have we got here? A checklist of some sort?" Agatha snorted as she leaned against the doorway.

"No. How did you get there so fast?" I asked, stalling her for a few moments.

"Oh you know, I have my ways. I just used a little magic to teleport myself here," she rambled on and on about how many years it took her to master the skill, giving me more time to think about how to react to her greedy ways.

"So, why are you here?" I asked pretending to be interested in her answer.

"I was just about to get to that, my little sapling. I have come here to take you back to your family." she said with a seemingly genuine smile. If I didn't know any better, I would've believed her straight away.

"Really? Thank you so much!" I grinned, "What do I have to do?"

"All you have to do is hold my hand, deary," she smirked, giving her plan away.

"O-ok. How do I know t-that y-you won't hurt me?" I stuttered while slowly backing away from her.

"You'll just have to trust me," she said.

I slowly inched towards her, and extended my hand to hers. When I was about one inch from touching her hand, the glow from her hand got brighter and turned into a small fire. After the flames bursted from her hand, Agatha pointed her palm towards my heart and laughed, amused by the expression on my face.

"Oh Maya. Gullible, hopeless little Maya. You're never going to see your family again. That was just a trick to lure you into my trap. Now I can get rid of you once, and for all." she sneered at me. Then, the flame flew out of her hand and straight into my heart.

I couldn't breathe, no matter how much I tried. There was this invisible force that was choking me, and I felt flames burning up everything that was inside my body. The room started to shake, and everything around me started to whirl around my head. I moved my hands to my ears, to shield them from a persistent high pitched noise that filled the room.

My body couldn't withstand all of the chaos.

My body was shutting down.

I fell into a heap on the stone cold floor and clutched my chest in pain. This was the end....well for me anyways.

"I must be dead," I thought.
