"I must be dead," I thought.

...

"Maya. Maya. Maya? Are you okay?" a familiar voice whispered.

"Is this heaven?" I mumbled.

"What? No. You're in the castle. I'm trying to help you, remember?" the voice told me.

I fluttered my eyes open, and let them adjust before I looked around the room for the body that belonged to the voice. It took me few moments to realize that it was the voice of that spirit who was helping me escape. It all came back to me. Agatha used a flame to try and kill me.

"You got me there for a second when you asked if this was heaven! I thought that you were really hurt. You're very good at acting. You should become an actress someday!" the voice said.

"Uh, I wasn't acting."

"What? How is that even possible?" the voice pondered aloud, "If you weren't pretending, you would have died because you are human."

"So does that mean I'm... inhuman?" I asked concerned.

"I'm not sure that I can answer your question, Maya. I am just as confused as you are. Shall we begin the next part of the plan?" the voice said.

"Sure. Whats next?"

"The next thing we need to do is gather all of your things and break the barrier that surrounds this castle. While you were talking with the witch, I was able to capture some of her magic in these little green orbs. Her presence made this very easy to do." the voice explained whilst handing me a green orb.

"Okay, so how do I use the orb's magic?" I asked.

"You just tell it what you want it to do, and it'll do it. We have plenty of orbs left." the voice told me.

"Okay then. Orb, please break the barrier over this castle," I commanded to the green orb. Then, the orb flew out of my hand, and went outside. A few seconds later, we heard a weird sparkling sound (like when a "fairy" uses her magic wand) , and little green sparkles filled the air outside of the castle.

I grabbed my luggage and raced down the spiral staircase, not hesitating to leave this horrid place. I yanked the main castle doors open and ran outside, spinning around and around.

"Yes! Im free! I'm finally free!" I cheered.

"Okay, settle down now. You don't want to cause too much attention to yourself because Agatha thinks that you're dead," the voice reminded me.

"Oh, sorry. Well then, where are we off to next?" I asked in a very cheerful tone.

"Our next stop will be at the tree house in the east forest," the voice replied,"We need to use your map, and try to get there by using shortcuts and back roads. Only use main roads if it's necessary because no one knows you, and some people may become suspicious."

"Hey! How do you know about my map?" I exclaimed.

"I've been watching you in the shadows since you arrived at the castle," the voice explained.

"Okay then. Next stop, the treehouse!" I said whilst skipping down the cracked castle pathway.
