I walked towards the water fountain that was in the center of the place that we were at. I looked around at my surroundings. There were people that were wearing different clothes, some with neutral colors, and some with neon colors. They also had bright signs that had moving pictures and were driving shiny metal things on the pavement. Everyone who passed me gave me a weird look and continued on to where they were going.

"Excuse me, are you lost?" a young lady who was around my age asked me.

"Actually, yes I am. Could you possibly tell me where I am, or the date and time, please?" I said to her.

"Of course!" she replied, "You are in New York City, and it is 2:30pm. Today's date is Wednesday, August 5, 2014."

"Okay. Thank you!" I said.

"No problem," she said and started talking to a piece of bright glass that was in her hand.

"We are in the future." the voice said. "We should get back into the time machine."

"Okay." I said and walked back to the box.

I buckled up once again, and pressed a button that read 'The 80's'. The time machine flew up into the air and landed on the ground once more. I got outside of the box, to be greeted by bright lights and a large group of people dancing on a brightly lit floor. There was a big ball shaped mirror hanging from the center of the ceiling.

"Hey girl!" a man with big hair said, "Dance to the funky beat!" He then spun me around and put one hand on his hip and pointed his finger in the air.

I giggled both at his "dance moves" and what the other people were wearing. They had bell shaped pants and patterned clothes with dark glasses.

"Okay. We need to go. You'll have plenty of time to be silly when we find a solution our problem," the voice said.

I slumped back towards the time machine and buckled up again.

"Thanks for ruining my fun," I mumbled as I pressed a button labeled 'Egypt'. I looked out of the window and saw desert hills for miles.

"Nope." I said and pressed one named 'Paris', and saw a metal, triangular shaped statue. I continued to press buttons and ended up on a bridge, underwater, near a swamp, beside the stars, in the middle of a war, and on a carousel.

I finally pressed a button that had a (?) question mark on it. I looked out the window and saw a town that looked a little older than mine.

"This is the right place," the voice announced. I took a gulp, and stepped out of the machine with my luggage in hand.

"Agatha, here we come," I said as the voice guided me to the correct building that I needed to enter.
